USC Offers Meek Performance Vs. Nebraska

The demise of USC basketball continued Saturday afternoon at the Galen Center.

The Trojans led at halftime by five points but completely collapsed in the second half of their 82-67 loss to Nebraska.

USC made 4 of 21 shots from 3-point range. It got rebounded, 41-25.

“We did not rebound the ball,” Eric Musselman said. “Rebounding the ball is something that I thought at least playing Nebraska that we could do a goob job on.”

Can it afford any more losses in the regular season for its sinking NCAA Tournament hopes? At the very least, it would need a deep Big Ten Tournament run.

What about Musselman? He built this roster and it’s a team with little chemistry. And it seems worse now than early in the season.

The bottom line: The season has quickly gone pear-shaped.

    1. KAM: Watching the game, in the second half it appeared that NEB played with more pep and joy. It was like watching a good high school team that passed the ball and drove and made layups and put SC on it’s heels. No wonder they didn’t rebound.

DON: SC looked like it had more talented players but they were going through the motions.

I know if can’t be good but I have never heard a season described in that way. It sounds like Scott is describing certain parts of a woman’s anatomy.

  2. “a deep tournament run”?? wolfman, it’s sadistic to keep elevating the Dummies’ hopes and dreams only to see them crushed again and again!! Lew Alcindor himself couldn’t get this band of rag-tags thru the big 10 tourney, much less to the big dance!!!

wolfman, if this team was a puppy, Kristi Noem would drag it the gravel pit!!
