This is one of things that drives me crazy about spring football (at any school).
A play that is not particularly special gets sent out and circulated everywhere and people pretend it is amazing.
Spring propaganda remains undefeated.
You know when a play like this matters? In the fall. Against an opposing team. Not in the spring.
And if USC thinks plays like this are something the fans need to see, have a spring game!
- Former USC All-American offensive lineman Ron Mix turns 87 today. His position coach at USC was Al Davis.
- The Big Ten actually selects two all-conference men’s basketball teams. One by the coaches and one by the media. USC got shut out on both. You can view the teams here.
Speaking of “propaganda” —- The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party has included USC in its investigation “regarding potential national security risks”–specifically “using taxpayer money to bolster Chinese military capabilities”…..

There are 5,000 Chinese graduate students at USC. Most of them in the engineering and computer programing departments where they learn things like cyber security. And their tuition is not that much higher than American students. Why is this a good thing for the university or the country? How many American born applicants were denied a spot that was taken by someone from a foreign country? Does the Board of Trustees even discuss this issue? Are they still trying to get around the Supreme Court decision that states schools cannot take into account race and ethnicity in the admissions process? Time for some new trustees. What do you say MG, 67, do you have 10 million to donate so that you may be considered?

Fall football is too punishing with nearly every team suffering losses, whereas spring football has everybody undefeated

Scott, Scott, Scott….everyone is undefeated with high expectations during spring practice. Would you rather have coaches and players say that they are not really very good so don’t expect much this Fall. C’mon get real. If the coaches are high on some players…that’s great.
Also, did you really expect USC to have a BB player on the all Big Ten team when the three best players on the team did not play a full year because of injuries or attitude. The team needs to be built around the incoming freshmen who could be very good if they have the right character. How about concentrating on what is good this spring like baseball, track and field, golf, tennis, lacrosse, beach volleyball and men’s volleyball. I didn’t mentiion swimming and diving because evidently we don’t recruit the top young swimmers in the world anymore. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962
