Morning Buzz: USC Coaches Reunited At LSU

Lane Kiffin has hired Tee Martin as an offensive analyst at LSU. The pair are reunited after being together at USC from 2012-13.

  • USC defeated San Diego State, 7-4, last night at Dedeaux Field. The Trojans are now 20-1.
  • Jazzy Davidson was named to the Associated Press All-America honorable mention team.
  • Have you seen this interview with Max Nikias as he promotes his book?

It’s something else. He says it was a betrayal to make him a target of the Tyndall scandal and paints himself as a victim.

He then claims “he” decided to step down as USC president. Others at USC painted a far different picture of him fighting as long as he could to keep power.

Naturally, this interview is very friendly with no tough questions. Or mention of the millions Nikias got paid following his depature.

  1. Tee Martin – wasn’t he also the OC under Helton, and then was part of the housecleaning after Swann announced “there is nothing more we do to do than change the culture, the work ethic, and the expectations for USC football”, but kept Helton. Then, what a surprise, the housecleaning didn’t clean up USC football.

  2. “Football Analyst” – the title given to someone who can’t find a job as an assistant coach but knows somebody who will let him hang around the program until something opens up. We used to say these people were unemployed or between jobs. Honestly, does anyone believe that Kiffin is going to ask Tee Martin his opinion on how to attack an opponents’ defense.

    1. No different than Corporate America. It’s not what you know, it’s WHO you know.

Over the years, I’ve seen so many people either get promoted or survive headcount reductions merely because they kissed the right butts.
