USC Saturday Buzz: Back In The Coliseum

USC held a SCRIMMAGE today at the Coliseum with recruits and others in attendance.

I keep mentioning these Saturday workouts at the Coliseum because I’m not sure what difference it would make to allow the public to attend them. Nothing top secret is happening and the fans would be fine some scrimmaging or a practice. Just something. But scrimmaging did take place today.

  • USC trails Maryland,, 6-3, in the 8th inning after the Trojans narrowly escaped with an 11-10 victory on Friday night.

USC women’s basketball players Jazzy Davidson and Sitaya Fagan were at the Tennessee-Iowa State men’s game last night.

Davidson is dating Tennessee forward Nate Ament.

  1. Is it time to worry that Tennessee might throw a ton of money at Davidson to get her to transfer?

    1. Also silly to assume it would only be Tennessee interested in her.

Saw a 10-15 Invesco ad on YouTube before my video started that featured the UConn women, standing in a row behind one of their teammates. Who was that teammate handling a ball? Former Trojan, Kayleigh Heckel.

  3. In baseball or any sport it is very difficult to win every game especially on the road after a 2500 mile trip. Just keep winning two out of three and make the playoffs where you can establish your pitching rotation instead of playing four games a week.

The Jazzy Davidson photo and story is disconcerting, but as has been mentioned the players are in control of where they play and for what reasons. The key for next year is Juju and there is also the portal to pick up someone else’s star player. It’s professional sports at the college level. But, I do hope that she stays with the opportunities in Los Angeles being better than future opportunities in Knoxville. Scott didn’t mention if her boyfriend is graduating and a long distance relationship would allow her to concentrate on her game.

How did the track and field team do yesterday at the only home meet? Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962
