Has anyone (besides me) criticized Lincoln Riley for holding a scrimmage at the Coliseum this weekend without allowing fans to attend?
I don’t expect the local media to hold him accountable. That’s not their style. But Riley had previously said he couldn’t hold a real scrimmage because it would also require a practice to prep for the scrimmage and he couldn’t afford to waste a workout.
This flimsy excuse fell apart when Riley held a real scrimmage two days ago.
So what other fake excuses could be used? He didn’t want anyone to see the offense? I can tell you after talking to some people who were in attendance the offense wasn’t doing anything special.
Or maybe Riley didn’t want rival schools to see his players? Some coaches use that excuse.
Well, have you seen all the videos USC has released of its freshmen and newcomers this spring? The football program doesn’t seem too worried about promoting its players. It’s a good recruiting tactice.
So is a spring game. No, the reason no fans were allowed is because Riley doesn’t want to be around the fans. He’s consistently dodged them for four years. And he isn’t going to change.
The bootlickers never mention this because they don’t want to upset him in any way or lose access.
- I hear Eric Musselman is looking at Hawaii associate head coach Brad Davidson to fill the vacancy on his coaching staff.
Wiley doesn’t “mix” with the fans. Whether it is practice or in a game, fans are mere spectators. He is there to coach, period

KAM: Funny how John McKay, John Robinson and Pete Carroll could “mix” with the fans and play and dominate Notre Dame and win national titles.
DON: Riley Coyote went 1-3 and said it was too hard to compete and has won zero in 4 years. He is there to collect his $10+ million a year salary, period. He is the worst hire dollar for dollar in USC history.

SC is trolling Oregon again with a green light vs yellow/red light sequence. Ducks’ fans are loving it, saying things like “Spend another 15 years rebuilding. It is not the recruitment but rather the true test takes place on the field”

Who cares about Musselman– the guy is a loser will never take USC to the Final 4 even with blue chip recruits because he can’t coach, and can’t put a team together.
A Hawaii Assistant Coach- Wonderful … Does he have NBA D or G League experience. Anyone notice former USC top assistant coach left Kentucky to coach again with Enfield at SMU.
I have to laugh USC gets a top assistant from Hawaii, and SMU gets one of the top assistants and recruits in college basketball. This kind of tells me most people don’t like to work with Musselman, and two he will be gone after next season.

Jason Hart wanted to return to USC—–Musselman knew he could be hiring his replacement if he brought him back so he goes an hires a clown from the Univ. of Hawaii.

The University of Hawaii’s basketball coaching staff is marginally better than USC’s —this is a marginal step up…

A few weeks back I said that if the donors tell Jen Cohen that they want a Spring game there would be a Spring game. Money talks and Riley and Jen are answerable to the donors. What I didn’t anticipate is that Riley’s response would be “OK, we will have a Spring game just for the donors and the recruits. The public will not be invited.” That was fine with Jen and the donors. It is not fine with me. It is time that the press, the season ticker holders, the administration, and the fans revolt against this non sense. Perhaps the BIG can tell Cohen that all member schools will have a Spring game

USC Basketball – has become a joke.! Muscle “Man” hires a coach from the Big West who wears Hawaiian shirts at basketball games. Why not hire “Don Ho” the Tiny Bubbles drunk however he is now deceased.
Musselman needs to wake up- HE’S IN THE BIG 10 not the Big West, and Hawaii has great surf, beautiful wahine’s, but clearly not a basketball power. The Big 10 had close to 6 teams in the tournament, and two in the Final 4, and nearly 4 more.
Knowing what I know about Musselman he is only interviewing a Hawaii coach so he can fly his own family to Hawaii for a week on his USC expense account to interview a coach he has no intention to hire. To me Musselman is afraid to hire one of the best assistants and recruiters like Jason Hart because he is afraid a good coach would take his job next season.

This is the resume of our new proposed Assistant Head Coach of USC Basketball.-Brad Davidson Not very impressive = who in the world in the Canberry Gunners. USC basketball is quickly becoming the home for college basketball rejects including Musselman. What’s worse is Musselman is going to pay this guy close to a 1 million bucks.
If I am Jen Cohen I step in her and not allow a job offer to be made.
How is the world is this guy going to enhance our recruiting…..Last time I looked very few Division 1 Basketball players came from Hawaii.
WAKE UP USC- get rid of Musselman.. Jen Cohen, please step in and take control over the program by forcing Musselman to hire a big time assistant who can take over the program in a year. We need a strong recruiter for a basketball coach not a surfer…..
I bet you Brad Davidson played for Musselman in the NBA D or G League. He likes to hire coaches who are not a threat to his job or taller than him…haha
