USC Notes: Waiting For Announcement

It is disappointing that at midday Monday, USC still has not said anything about the death of Joey Browner or published an obituary.

There’s plenty of time to do social media posts mocking Oregon, but acknowledging the passing of an All-American and one of the greatest defensive backs in school history is another matter, apparently.

It’s quite a contrast to the Minnesota Vikings, who not only announced Browner’s death, but produced a lengthy obit on his accomplishments.

  • Gustavo Dudamel, conductor and Music & Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, will be the commencement speaker at USC in May.

      1. Tiger is Magic Johnson compared to Lincoln …but that doesn’t mean Lincoln isn’t going to win big this Fall…

      2. KAM: Where was that motivation to show that his hated USC fans were wrong after his 2023 choke and his 2024 flop?

DON: He is doubling down on stupid now.

      3. This is Lincoln’s thought process:

I don’t owe the Trojan fans a Notre Dame game.

I don’t owe them attendance at practices.

I don’t owe them a Spring [or a Fall] game.

        I don’t owe them anything.

        But…

…I’m a competitor….. and, like a Greek Warrior, I am going to come back with or on my shield after the 2026 campaign…

      4. KAM Chris “Mad Dog” Russo was on a morning show today and listed going to a football game at South Bend as one of the top five sport experiences every fan should do in their life along with Wimbledon, The Masters, Wrigley Field and Fenway Park.

DON: Thanks for denying us one of the top five sports experiences, Riley Coyote.

  1. Wow! That is very cool about Gustavo being the commencement speaker!!

Most TMB members have accompanied the LA Phil at the Hollywood Bowl at one time or another, for the past few decades.

They were great at Coachella last year.

      1. I wasn’t there. Ever since COVID, they stream all stages for FREE on YouTube. Each stage is on a different channel.

I never mentioned that when dumbxss accused me of lying about being there last year. Same as I ignored her question about the drone that held up the football game a few years ago. I don’t give a shxt if she ASSumed I was lying. Have nothing to prove to her.

I only mention it now, in case anyone wants to check it out next month. They have a nice broad selection of music to suit different tastes. And you don’t have to use an outhouse when watching from your den, with the soundbar cranked up!
