USC Morning Buzz: The World Champion Of Talking Strikes Again

Chad “Charmin” Bowden is at it again.

He spoke this week on Trojans Live about USC’s schedule

“We cannot wait to play in those games,” Bowden said.

Was he talking about playing San Jose State or Louisiana?

Of course not. No doubt he was referring to Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana, etc.

But not Notre Dame, of course.

Let’s recall what he said last season before USC played the Irish:

“We can play against anybody in the country it doesn’t matter what logo or where you’re from. Midwest. Blue Blood. We’re just as tough as anybody.”

Uh huh. He counts on people not remembering what he says. I’m not sure why people like Bowden cannot let the Trojans do their talking on the field.

  1. Scott, do you also remember the ND coach saying that they would play USC anytime during the season when USC requested that they play ND as the first game. What happened to that boarst by your Irish. You tend to be very selective with your memory. And, yes, USC does have a great schedule this year, in fact it is one of the best in the country and very challenging. ND gets to play BYU, Miami, Clemson and nine stiffs. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962. By the way, how come you aren’t interviewing Bowden. He appears on other broadcasts.

    1. Tim Thessalone put Wolfy on a do not “fly” list years ago. The document has been placed in Fort Knox, he never have access.

Wolf would reply by saying, “interview CLR or GM, no that is not who I am.”

    2. Ambitious — Do you think it would be a good idea for USC to invite Scott back into the fold ….in the hope he would reciprocate with gentler assessments of their football program?

I think that will be the reality starting this year. Bowden deserves credit for landing the number 1 recruiting class and that class is composed of lots of guys who will dominate the line of scrimmage in the coming years. Guys like Wafle, Winfield, Tom Tom, Kolojay, Pepe, Deniz, Smith and Dyakonov. This is exactly what the program needed. The future is bright.

    1. KAM: But not this year.

DON: Give the recruits time to develop- that is, if they stay more than a year before Lane Kiffin and the other top coaches offer them millions and swoop them up.

      1. The NG transfer from Michigan State is the key. If we can clog up the interior run lanes, our defense will be good. Stewart, Bouchard, and Kam Crawford should all standout next year and I can’t wait to see Luke Wafle at mid season. He will be a first round draft pick. The following year, with Winfield and Tom Tom, we will be even better.

      2. KAM: If they stay. The QBs for Oregon and Indy came from UCLA and Cal.

DON: We might look like saps being the farm club for all the Blue Bloods .
