USC Saturday Buzz: The Petty GM At Work

Is Chad “Charmin” Bowden just a petty person or did he leave Notre Dame on bad terms?

The Trojans just mocked Notre Dame in a video (below) and it’s basically taking shots at a video the Irish previously produced. Who else at USC would even remember a Notre Dame video than the small-minded Bowden? He even did a voice-over in the USC version, which takes a poke at Notre Dame.

Instead of celebrating a great recruiting run, USC is obsessed on social media with taking shots at Oregon and Notre Dame. Not exactly evoking memories of the John McKay Era.

If Bowden is so concerned about Notre Dame, why doesn’t he play them? Oh no, we can’t do that. Instead, we have a general manager who couldn’t even figure out how to gain access to the diving platform last week without hopping a fence and then dove into the water like he was the star. He’s not. He’s a GM. Big deal.

  4. Scott, don’t be such a hypocrit. You are suposed to be a USC fan, but you worry more about hurting the feelings of our rivals. You constantly take snarky shots at USC officials and coaches and in your delusional mind, you think that you are helping our school. I have been around a lot longer than you, and I don’t give a hoot about the feelings of Ducks, Bruins and Leprechauns. And, to reiterate, USC plays a great schedule in the Big Ten and does not need the self serving Irish . When are you going to encourage your Irish to join the Big Ten? Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

  6. One of the big negatives IMO on social media is this kind of stuff. All the programs do it at some level, seems the recruits and their families today are expecting it/wanting it.

        Long ago a serial burglar was brought to trial in my courtroom on m u r d e r charges. Near midnight he entered the home of the victims, two young men, allegedly to confront them over their intrusion into what he considered his territory. He claimed that during a heated argument the duo drew handguns and he merely responded, k i l l i n g both in self-defense. The medical examiner testified that both of the decedents were s h o t in the back of the head at close range, execution style. At sentencing, with friends and relatives of the victims present, I asked the defendant if he had anything he’d like to share. He smiled and said, “Looks like I won’t be attending the class reunion this summer.”  My disgusted response: “True. This summer. And every summer thereafter.” Then I sentenced him to two life terms without possibility of parole. He laughed as he passed by friends and family of the victims on his way out of the courtroom. That vile, noxious miscreant inhabited  an impenetrable self-delusional dimension, the same dimension where Gabby dwells.

They wish to be like a nuke-armed North Korea to assure that the U.S. will never attack them again. You ever see the U.S. messing with North Korea?

  15. KAM: Last night’s Lakers’ victory over favored Houston showed true grit amid a good shooting night. But now Houston’s Durant is returning, thus the game last night will be the only game L.A. wins so I am savoring it

    DON: Too bad the Lake just doesn’t phone in the rest of the Series. That way they can say they won their last game in 2026

  16. KAM: So true, in the sports’ playoffs there is only one team that will win their last game, with all the others losing their last game

    DON: When losing their last game that is probably the primary one that teams will carry with them throughout the off season

    KAM: Maybe it was better when we had the ‘Bowl system with half the teams winning their last game. There was never a clear national champion, but the top teams winning their bowl games gave them an argument that they were the true No 1 team
