USC Morning Buzz: Some Pushback To A Ludicrous Line

Ir was good to see some push back to Lincoln Riley’s comment that he had to “fight like hell” to open USC’s championship window.

He made a similar comment after USC lost in the Alamo Bowl but it was overshadowed by the game. Since no one at USC questions him, he tried to line again in the offseason.

If you read anyone on social media or the fanboy media defending that comment, they are delusional. Curt Cignetti didn’t need five years to open Indiana’s window.

  • USC wide receiver Makai Lemon was asked this morning in Pittsburgh what he learned about his controversial NFL Combine press conference.

“Just how to carry myself more professionally,” Lemon said. “I definitely didn’t expect to look like that. I learned from it definitely and will be better moving forward.”

  • USC baseball defeated Cal State Fullerton, 9-2, last night following its disastrous trip to Nebraska.

  1. Good on for Makai. IMO he will become a star in the NFL. Though it is interesting that USC athletics didn’t do more to prep him for interviews.

    1. Not nearly as much as we all laugh at you.

      But keep crying. It’s great!

And go ahead lie about that being exactly what you’re doing, the way you always do.

[Better yet –redefine “know it all” to mean someone who doesn’t know it all–it’s called a ‘stipulated definition’]….

    2. KAM: The HORRORS that I L L E G A L A L I E N i m m i g r a n t children endured during Senile J o e B i d e n ’ s years as president. They can NEVER be forgiven, nor forgotten. During B i d e n ’ s four blundering years, 448,000 unaccompanied i l l e g al a l i e n children (UACs) entered America. Most traveled through Mexico and crossed the southern border, sent by their parents, ALONE, to be shepherded by drug cartel-affiliated coyotes.

DON: Under the T r u m p administration, everything has changed, not only because the federal government closed our borders, but because sponsors who wish to pick up UACs now have to have various forms of identification and cannot have verifiable criminal records or deportation orders. In other words, until the T r u m p administration came into office, the federal and state governments, along with numerous supposedly charitable and religious groups, were orchestrating mass child trafficking.

  2. Scott, we can all agree that LR is not on the same coaching level as Cignetti, but what coach is. Cignetti is a once in a generation coach like a Nick Saban. And, yes, I would back up the Brink’s truck to get Cignetti to USC. But, let’s face reality, and like MG always says, let LR provie his words on the playing field against his top comeetition this year. And, thanks for noting the win by baseball over Cal State Fullerton. A sweep of Purdue would help this weekend. But, this team is doing far better than anyone expected because of the coaching. Glad to see that they gave multiple pitchers experience against CSF because our weakness is pitching depth especially relievers. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

  3. Yes, ambitious. To paraphrase Tolkien, “The doubters will be silenced, the broken sword will be remade.”
