Do football coaches want to compete anymore?
Lincoln Riley vs. Notre Dame is a prime example they do not.
Now the American Football Coaches Assn. (AFCA) is recommending the College Football Playoff be expanded to as many as 24 teams.
Why? Because the coaches only care about their job security. The more teams in the playoff, the more coaches who can keep their jobs.
Do you think Riley objects to an expanded playoff? He’s demonstrated he can’t make a 12-team playoff at USC despite the millions invested into his program for NIL and extra staff support.
The sad part is the fans who defend Riley would be the first ones cheering on inclusion in a 24-team playoff as a sign that USC “made it.”
- Let’s see what Eric Musselman thinks about a 76-team NCAA Tournament. Will he admit its too many teams or embrace it as a way to finally make the tournament while at USC?

Many trolls feel powerless or overlooked in their daily lives. Online, however, they find a space where they can exert control, provoke strong reactions, and experience a sense of importance—all through negative interactions. Trolling is an extension of deeper personality issues that show up across different areas of life. While some behaviors stay digital, the underlying traits—low empathy, high defensiveness, and a tendency to blame others—often cross over into the offline world

Scott, Scott, Scott, you are like a dog with a bone; you just can’t let go of the ND game. How can you say that LR does not like competition when he is competing in the best conference in the country. ND does not like competition because they were not willing to accommodate the Trojans who play a much toougher schedule than ND. And, yes the playoffs will be expanded because we are part of a money making society…..ESPN, Fox, CBS, etc. love more playoff games for the money as do the universities who also like money. Maybe ND will finally join the Big Ten so that they can play the Trojans every year as the legacy game along with UGLA.. Scott, start a campaign to get ND into the Big Ten. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

People who are grandiosely narcissistic are outwardly confident, interpersonally dominant, and attention-seeking. People who are vulnerably narcissistic tend to be shy, socially retreating, and interpersonally sensitive while also seeing themselves as not getting the credit, attention, or fair treatment they deserve.
Individuals high on either (or both) dimensions can be reactive to online criticism—but they may respond in different ways. Grandiose narcissists tend to lash out with anger or insults, often defending their inflated self-image and sense of superiority aggressively. Vulnerable narcissists, on the other hand, may feel deep shame or insecurity, even while being equally prone to reactive forms of aggression.
This explains why some trolls seem defensive and emotionally fragile beneath the surface, while others are all bravado and bluster. The internet provides fertile ground for both to engage in behavior that protects or boosts their self-image, whether through self-promotion or tearing others down.

24 teams? Sheesh, I understand the incentive to squeeze every last dollar out of college football, but this really a bad idea. Last year, the bottom would have been something like SMU or South Florida. Solid teams, but what is the point?

You know the point
MONEY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And guess what ? Joe Dufus will still watch SMU play South Florida even if they have no business in the playoffs and Joe Dufus will probably gamble on the game.

that’s some hard-hitting stuff, wolfman! of course the usual knee-jerked reactions from the fan boys come pouring out like angry bees outta a hive!! still trying blame the Rudys for the absence of Domers game even though Lil’ Lord Riley is on record wanting avoid the possibility of a late season loss, if AI is to be believed, you played the Rudys either late nov/early Dec for LA games, or mid-Oct for South Bend games, same pattern for 99 years!! SC’s sudden demand to blow up the schedule was obviously a deal killer and they knew it, the Rudys schedule their games years in advance as everyone knows.

No reason to have changed something that worked for decades. This was on Riley…a coward who may as well have suggested the game be played in Barstow! (Knowing that no one with any sense is going out there.)

If the College Football Playoffs expand to 24-teams, it figures there will be at least 5 teams each from the Big-10 and SEC

Under the 12 team BS,
5 bids were guaranteed to the champions of the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC, plus the highest-ranked champion from the remaining Group of Six conferences (AAC, CUSA, MAC, Mountain West, Pac-12, Sun Belt) plus ND gets in if they are ranked 12th or better.
At-Large Bids : The next seven highest-ranked teams, regardless of conference, fill the remaining spots.
If they go to 24, you’ll see ND, ONE from either the AAC,CUSA, MAC, MWC, PAC 12 or SUN BELT, the 4 automatics and 18 from the BIG 10 & SEC
