USC Loses In Rough Fashion To UCLA

USC just cannot beat UCLA, apparently.

The Trojans had a 5-4 lead with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning but surrendered a three-run homer for the Bruins victory.

USC led most of the game but like most games this season with the Bruins, the Trojans faltered in the late innings.

The question now is whether USC has done enough to secure hosting a regional?

  1. I think we have done enough to host but the real question is where?!? There is no Certificate of Occupancy for Dedeaux Field since it was revoked 2 weeks ago by the City of LA due to construction delays and various safety issues.

My guess is we go back to Great Park in Irvine or possibly CS Fullerton.

  2. The squad is one year from where it needs to be but it has come a long long way since Chad Krueter arrival and well deserved departure…get ready for a return to Omaha for the College WS… great year truly.

    1. KAM: Hope we can keep our great coach Andy Stankiewicz. He’s 61 now and if he is ever going to make the jump to MLB it is now.

DON: Someone is going to figure out he is the real deal and try to steal him away from us.

      1. …and we need to anticipate this and do whatever we can to keep him —unless of course we don’t care about baseball…

  3. OT….Bears are definitely leaving Soldier Field but may/may not be to Hammond-IN …still possibility at Arlington Pk Racetrack in Arlington Heights – the old racetrack i.e akin to Hollywood Park. NW of dtwn.

CLE Browns are bldg in Brook Park – SW of dtwn….

KC Chiefs seem intent on crossing state lines to KC-KS..

Nothing beats the LA Memorial Coliseum…one of two of the last of the legacy stadiums about to host a 3rd Olympiad..nothing mor its’ ‘sister, the Pasadena Rose Bowl.

    1. I disagree with the millions of fans who say the Rose Bowl has been forever tainted by its association with Deshawn Foster…

      1. KAM: But has the Coliseum been forever tainted…by it’s association with Pat Capper Haden?

DON: A 2016 Los Angeles Times investigation that found Pat and two greedy relatives were paid roughly $2.4 million by the George Henry Mayr Foundation (1999–2014), with about $1.2M to Haden, while the foundation’s donations and scholarship spending declined. Pat is way ahead of the Somalians in charity grifting.

      2. Easy. Someone always has to chart the course for those that follow…. Lewis and Clark, Kit Carson, Daniel Boone ….and……

      4. I fear the low point for USC sports is still ahead of us: Lincoln calling Jen to the sidelines during the 4th quarter of the Oregon game….

  4. -I don’t know about the relatives, but Haden paying himself about $80,000 a year to run a charity might not be so outlandish

    1. I think it’s probably another case of Pat not paying attention to what was going on under his nose.

      Fiduciary responsibilities weren’t Pat’s long suit……

  5. If there is a silver lining in the Trojans’ loss to ucla, it is the fact that it was only for a ‘Big-10’ championship, not the national championship
