North Carolina Beats USC, 4-0, To Set Up Huge Sunday Game

OK, one question: Who is going to pitch tomorrow for USC?

Andrew Johnson would have been a candidate but he pitched 3.2 innings Friday.

Does he come back for limited innings? It looks like it will be all-hands-on-deck. Diego Velasquez (5-1) and Chase Herrell (6-4) are certainly candidates. Is Mason Edwards available for spot duty?

USC just can not handle North Carolina pitcher Jason Decaro. He has held the Trojans to two hits and no runs in 8 innings.

The Tar Heels add another run off Matson on a sacrifice fly and North Carolina leads, 3-0.

Sax Matson comes into the game and promptly allows a home run. It’s 2-0, North Carolina, in the top of the 6th inning.

Grant Govel has allowed only one run but the Trojans have just one hit as they enter the 5th inning.

  1. –The SC pitching was good enough against a fine hitting North Carolina team, but the Trojans cannot win by scoring zero runs

    1. Time to fire Riley. 10 million a year! For what? He suppose to be an offensive genius but the Trojans can’t score in the big games.

      1. Too late to do it this year. After this season, it would cost us about $42M (NPV).

We should not be paying a coach who runs away from tough OOC opponents $10M a year. He should be willing to play anyone, anytime, anywhere.

He’s as cowardly as someone who challenges people to “meet up”, yet says they have to drive 100 miles to do it.

      2. Someone doesn’t understand the concept of the “free rent” insult.

That is reserved for people with whom you should not be concerned. Their life & what they do has zero bearing on your life.

As USC alumni, our head football coach’s incompetence does impact our enjoyment of the football season. It is something with which not only alumni, but Trojan fans should be VERY concerned.

      3. Yeah, she’s also stupid enough to claim I’m obsessed with her, when she was the one who posted under my name several times this past week.

        They don’t come any stupider.
