USC Morning Buzz: Not Quite The Hottest Ticket In Town Yet

So you’re telling me the USC-Ohio State game is not a sell out?

That means Ohio State fans have not yet gone all out on buying tickets for the game. They will.

It’s important to remember Coliseum capacity is only 77,500. This isn’t like back in the day when the Coliseum seated 92,000.

But this is a sign the USC fans still are not ready to fully buy into whatever Lincoln Riley is selling.

Traveler was on campus Monday night.

  1. QUESTION: Wiley, you had a lot of success at Oklahoma. Tell us about it-

WILEY: SC is still trying to get into the Playoffs. I have been there 3 times so I know what it takes, and this Trojan team has what it takes

    1. KAM: Riley Coyote achievements at Oklahoma

Record in Playoffs: 0 wins, 3 losses

      Total Playoff Appearances: 3

DON: Key factors that contributed to Lincoln Riley’s College Football Playoff (CFP) failures at Oklahoma:

Pressure on quarterback/playmakers: When Oklahoma’s QB and primary playmakers were pressured consistently, their efficiency dropped — reducing big-play production that had carried them through the regular season.

Defensive weaknesses: Oklahoma’s defenses in CFP seasons allowed too many explosive plays, failed to generate consistent pass rush, and struggled in coverage on tight windows — leaving opponents able to sustain drives and exploit mismatches.

Turnovers and field-position swings: In key CFP games, turnovers (or turnovers forced against Oklahoma) and short fields shifted momentum and led to lopsided scoring sequences.

In-game adjustments and scheming: Opponents made more effective halftime or situational adjustments — scheming to slow Oklahoma’s high-tempo offense, pressuring the QB differently, or attacking Oklahoma’s specific personnel weaknesses.

Special teams lapses: Mistakes or failures in kick/punt coverage and returns created additional scoring swings or poor field position in crucial moments.

Reliance on offense without complementary phases: Oklahoma often relied heavily on its high-powered offense; when the offense stalled or faced sustained defensive pressure, there wasn’t enough complementary defense or special-teams play to compensate.

    2. Riley ” I’ve been there three times, my teams gave up 162 points in the three games, but I got 100 million from USC, so I don’t really care. “

  3. The game is probably not sold out (yet) because it is fricking expensive right now.

OSU fans in the midwest might rather wait closer to the game than shell out for tix, airfare, car rental and hotel room now.
