Morning Buzz: Notre Dame Believes USC Series Will Resume

Here’s an interview with Notre Dame athletic director Pete Bevacqua where he says he believes the series with USC resume at some point.

Now here is the point: When have you ever seen USC athletic director Jen Cohen speak on camera about the USC-Notre Dame series? She’s always hidden behind print interviews or let minions do the talking.

But she doesn’t front up and do anything that can be shown to the fans to defend her or USC’s position. Instead, she lets Lincoln Riley show his defensive nature when he gets asked questions about it at press conferences. Because she knows if she talks in public it will make her position even worse.

It’s one reason USC doesn’t have much support from anyone — including most Trojan fans — about discontinuing the series. Only the fanboys support USC’s official position and they always support every USC position, right or wrong because they are mindless blowhards.

Just a reminder: It is believed the earliest the series could resume is 2030.

  1. Notre Dame just signed a huge uniform logo deal with SoFi.

    SoFi Stadium is in Los Angeles.

    My prediction is there will be a season opening Kickoff game at SoFi in the near future.

  2. Scott, we know that you are not a “USC Fanboy” because you do appear to be a Notre Dame Fanboy. USC has explained its position regarding the series. Play the game as the first or second game of the season so it doesn’t impact the tough Big Ten schedule. As the ND rah rah guy, why don’t you ask your minions at ND to get ND to schedule the game when it is convenient for USC and join the Big Ten or ACC conference like all the other big boys. Being a shill for ND is not a good look for you. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962

    1. So, USC could play ND in the middle of the year when they were in the PAC 8 ? PAC 10 ? PAC 12 ??

      SC used to play ND in South Bend in November and got them to move the game to October to avoid the cold weather, now SC has to play them the first part of the year ?

      Maybe SC should hire a MAN to coach the football team not some beta male with a social anxiety disorder.

    2. convenient for USC? Lincoln Riley has dropped games with Notre Dame and Mississippi. Tried to drop LSU. Your talking points are stale. The vast majority of fans were happy with the game being played when it always was. So I guess we are alll Notre Dame shills. John McKay, the coach when you were a student, would be aghast at your laughable position

      1. Scott, 1962 was definitely a different time. As the Pac 8 or Pac 12, we only played about three or four tough games a year including the ND game. Our big game was always UCLA because the goal was to win the conference and go to the Rose Bowl. Now, the goal is to make the playoffs and to get there we have to play five or six top teams in the Big Ten. ND is still playing their soft schedule with USC and maybe one or two other tough teams on their schedule. They need a USC to make their schedule playoff worthy. If you notice, the other Big Ten teams play any tough nonconference opponent as the first or second game of the year. USC would do that with ND on a regular basis. Why should USC cater to ND’s needs and not ours? I wish that you would become a true USC fan and stick up for your team occasionally. Fight on, Dan, Class of 1962.

        P.S. I do thank you for the historical Friday’s when you don’t get snarky about poor old ND.

  3. ND signs a deal with a company that has a 20 year naming rights to a stadium in LA, 6 year deal worth $18 to $20 million a year to put a patch on their uniform.

    Ohio State has a deal with JPMorgan Chase for $17 million to put patches on every athletic team they field.

    USC has NO ads on their uniforms.

    I think ND doing this is pathetic, this is freaking ND not some run of the mill school, but the whole college game has changed and maybe they made a smart move, OSU would sell their soul for anything.

    Meanwhile, SC does ??????????????????

    And the ND series will resume when SC hires a coach that isn’t afraid of competition.

    The only thing that Jen Taco Lita Cohen puts in front of her mouth is the 2 pound hamburger burrito from Taco Lita. SHE IS WORTHLESS. Nothin’ but another Karen Bass. You can’t get a straight answer from either one of them.

  6. i;m curious no one seems to mention the fact Lil Lord Riley implied that SC was lied to by the Rudys, in a lame attempt to blame them for the series ending. the game was scheduled for the same time of year as it has for decades but SC backed out with excuse they wanted to change when game was played to much earlier. the deal was set, SC broke it and ran. then Riley implies ND “lied”. hard to imagine McKay or Petey (a Wooden Disciple) acting so dishonorably.
