USC Notes: Hey, Who Made This Schedule!

USC will play five teams that were ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll:

  • No. 2 Oregon
  • No. 17 Washington
  • at No. 18 Penn State
  • No. 1 Ohio State
  • at No. 6 Indiana

Lincoln Riley probably saw those rankings and said, “And people wanted me to play Notre Dame too! I don’t even like being in the Big Ten.”

  • Former USC assistant coach Quincy Pondexter has been named head coach of the Windy City Bulls, the G-League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls.

  1. Riley & anyone else using that schedule to justify abandoning the ND rivalry should put the blame where it belongs…on the fools who made the decision for us to leave the Pac-12 and join the Big-10.

    1. It was ‘the princess’ that walked away not USC. As has been stated repeatedly ‘the princess’ is desperate to schedule creditable opponents especially late in the year because they refuse to join a
conference. Previous AD Jack Swarbrick knew this was on the horizon as he noted filling the other 6 slots after the ACC opponents, was getting tougher and tougher to fill especially late in the year since 2022. It’s why he ‘retired’ rather than get tarred as Bevacqua is in 2026.

This is solved immediately if ‘the princess’ joined a conference – they won’t but somehow you and so many others believe it’s contingent on everyone else to bow to ‘her’ demands.

The number of head coaches and athletic directors are all pleased USC said ‘no’ – finally someone stood up and told this annual con game – I believe we are witnessing the beginning of the end for ‘the princess’ especially as the programs that replaced USC this year is BYU and they’re not playing on 28th November but rather 17th October …..

      1. It was fine for 100 years.

As I stated, it wasn’t just the ND game. It was also the people who thought leaving the Pac-12 was a good idea.

  2. Dont’ forget games at UCLA, and at Wisconsin……………I say 4 losses.. Ohio State, Penn State, , Indiana, and maybe Wisconsin or UCLA maybe both.

No Playoff this year- No Lincoln Riley next year…… will Lane Kiffin be a candidate???????????????? Maybe all we can afford after all this is Timmy Chang Head Coach of the University of Hawaii.

    1. 4 losses would not shock me. But SUCLA had better not be one of them.

If it does happen, Jen needs to ride the bus with the team & coaches down the 405 to LAX and fire Riley on the tarmac.

      1. Larry Scott was the reason the conference blew apart….all his. His palatial offices…his mandating all schools share equally the revenue from telecasting. His screwed up Pac-12 network was left in the dust by the deals the SEC and Big 10 struck. He’s the reason the conference collapsed along with horrific mgmt at USC university wise and specifically athletic.

      1. It’s funny that MSM lies, claiming the hate & violence is coming equally from both sides. It is not.

We knew Joe belonged in a nursing home from Day 1, but we weren’t wishing for his death. They have a lot of sickos on the Left. It’s also funny the way they make excuses about that.

  3. KAM: Mercy, but SC plays 5 teams in the Top-20

DON: And Notre Dame would have been 6. I don’t know, I’m sure the team has improved but who knows whether that’s enough-

  4. KAM: To my eye I can’t really tell how much better one player is from another. They all look like they’re trying hard

DON: The star players are not ‘heads-and-shoulders’ better than the others. That’s why so many games are even

    1. Mostly, I agree. But. Makai Lemon was “better” than the rest of our receivers.

  6. KAM: The more I think about SC’s chances, the more worried I become.

DON: Even SC’s home games against Oregon and Ohio St will find the Trojans as underdogs. It looks like SC this year will lose the war but could win some battles

    KAM: You thinking 8-4?

    1. It ALL hinges on Oregon —- a win there is a “Game Changer” [in the most expansive sense]…

  8. KAM: I note you are doing something about the Colorado River problem. There just isn’t enough river water to supply 7 states

DON: The river is at its lowest flow ever because of a quarter century drought. Naturally I am getting some pushback from Arizona, but nothing I can’t handle

  9. KAM: Some Times writer says SC’s worst case scenario is a 6-6 season.

DON: With losses to Oregon, Washington, Penn St, Ohio St, Indiana and even ucla

    1. Interesting. Worst case scenarios change from year to year, depending on scheduling. The best case scenario always remains the same: 12-0.
