There has been a changing of the guard on the USC post-game show as Su’a Cravens has moved on and will be replaced by Marqise Lee.
It just won’t be the same without Cravens having to listen to first caller “Helen of Troy” after every game. Cravens was good because he didn’t mind giving his opinion, even if it was critical of USC after the games.
Lee was always known for being honest when he did interviews as a player at USC. So hopefully, he will keep the show lively. And now he will get to work with “Helen of Troy.”
Cody Kessler is no longer on the pre-game show because he will be an analyst for the CW’s Mountain West games. He was always more of a politician when it came to giving opinions so this isn’t really a loss. Nelson Agholar has joined the pre-game show.
If the station wants enormous listenership, then just hire Ed. G

Sanchito still facing felony charges. He was stabbled four times.
Video shows Sanchito shoving the guy before the guy stabbed sanchito so based on that, the view is that Sanchito was not acting in self defense. The guy has recovered and was released from hospital te next day. The guy has also filed a civil suit, assuming that he is looking for lots and lotsa of $$. Perhaps the guy verbally threatened Sanchito, and Sanchito pushed him, and the verbal threat was not picked up on the video.

Thanks for the update, ’67. This sounds like one of those kind of cases wherein, one second after the bailiff calls the jury into the courtroom, your attorney needs to say “Pre-trial’s been fun —but we now need to make this case go away —will you take 50% of what you’re asking? No? How ’bout 75%?”

KAM: No one wants to be the next Mark Sanchez.
Mark Sanchez was accused of sexual assault in April 2006 while he was a student at the University of Southern California (USC).
He was arrested after a female USC student reported that he had assaulted her, and he was subsequently placed on interim suspension by the university. He was released on $200,000 bail.
By June 3, 2006, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced that no charges would be filed due to a lack of sufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
Following this decision, Sanchez was reinstated to the team, although he was disciplined by USC for underage drinking and using a false identification on the night of the incident.
DON: He has always been a train wreck.

After Brian Banks & even Chef Mario Batali, I tend to take such accusations with a grain of salt. Many of them just want a nice payday and see athletes who are about to come into a lot of money as a nice target! (Or sometimes, they merely regret what they did and regret does not equal rape.)
Batali’s accuser: “She purportedly suggested to a friend that she could “hopefully” get $10,000 for photos of the encounter.
“I really, honestly thought this is how it all worked. I thought [with] celebrities, when they get in trouble, that’s how it works,” she said. “$10,000 is just an arbitrary number to me.”

Michael– I don’t think any football game is easy. Everybody who plays will feel it the next day. And I still recall in 1991 or something how underdog Fresno St whipped our boys badly. Cost Coach Larry Smith his job and then SC brings in an even worse coach

KAM: The biggest difference between being at a football game and watching it on tv is the crowd. A home crowd of 70,000 fans or more can at times sound like one voice, one happy voice if winning
DON: Ever go to a football game with only a few thousand in the stands? The game seems a drag

on a brighter note, ABC announced that Matt Leinert has just been hired as the new host of Jeopardy, replacing Know-it-all Ken Jennings. Producers felt Leinert better reflects the intellect of MAGA Americans than some over-educated dandy who relies on empirical data.

John — With respect, it is NOT Nolan’s version. There is nothing “Greek” about Nolan’s Big Idea: Odysseus forgives most of the men who sullied his wife and castle [?!]. That’s not even smart drama. You need a third act —and, as Aristotle pointed out, it better be cathartic [i. e., the suitors have to die —Odysseus doesn’t have to leave his own home].
