Can USC Reverse A Trend This Weekend?

When Lincoln Riley bragged (incorrectly) that attendance has gone up every year he has coached at USC, did he anticipate this year’s attendance average.

USC has a third straight awful opponent, this time at 8 p.m. Saturday, which turns off some fans who don’t want to drive home at 11:30 p.m. So are we looking at another crowd in the 50,000’s?

Even if USC sells out the Oregon and Ohio State games, will that be enough? How many fans are going to see Maryland at the Coliseum?

What will Riley say if attendances decrease for two straight years? Hint: He’ll make an excuse. But he won’t blame his strict desire to play an awful nonconference schedule. He will say it helped make the College Football Playoff so it was worth it.

Given that L.A. Material reported the athletic dept. has lost money, football attendance matters even more.

That assumes we make the CFP. I’m not (yet) convinced that is happening. Even if we do, it’ll be one & done.

  2. Given that the coliseum only has about a 77,000 capacity, the attendance figures for 2026 will definitely be down from 2024-2025

  3. Riley will double down on his stupidity, claiming the attendance is still increasing since his arrival.

No one else exhibits that type of stupidity, except our favorite poster. Could Riley be her?!

    1. KAM: Cowardly Gabby started her screeds 26 years ago under the moniker TrojanFan1. She had one of her mental breakdowns and was booted and soon returned as TrojanFan2, then was booted again and returned as TrojanFan3 and after that began impersonating other posters and making up thousands of names all in her quest to destroy this blog in retribution for daring to boot her for her childish antics.

DON: Riley Coyote didn’t care about USC in 2000. He was a junior at Muleshoe High School.

  5. TIREBITER SAYS SC WILL GO 8-4 AND IT WOULD TAKE A “MIRACLE” TO WIN 2 GAMES AGAINST THE ‘BIG-4’

THAT CERTAINLY IS FEASABLE AND SOME FOLKS MIGHT SAY 8-4 IS GOOD ENOUGH

BESIDES, WHEN THE PLAYOFF EXPANDS TO 24-TEAMS, SC IS PROBABLY IN AT 8-4. jUST NOT THIS YEAR

  6. KAM: It is 9/11 and a time to reflect. First the North Tower is taken out, then the South Tower. We complain of earthquakes here but the force on the 2 buildings was beyond anything a ‘quake can do

  11. Scooter and the gang,

I will never forget this date and what happened. On this date, 9/11/26, I started working for the City of L.A. One year later, 9/11 happened. What a tough day it is today. All we can do is pray for the people who gave their lives up. God Bless them. The very first victim was a priest who ran into the north tower to give last rites and pray for people.
