  1. wolfman, please tell me the band did not subject New Yorkers to the clattering, ramshackle mess that is also known as the insipid “Tusk”. i mean, hasn’t this city suffered enough??

The secretly provocative reference to “amenities” got through, though…. and it’s WAY worse than the “salt” reference….

  2. Our terrific Trojan band makes us all proud.to be Trojans. They are truly the nation’s college marching band. Thank you Dr. Bartner for all that you did to make it the greatest in the land. Fight on and beat Rutgers tomorrow. Dan, Class of 1962

      1. If I know Ed he’s thinking more along the lines of the kind of trouble that potential World Bank President got into with his Hotel Maid before his flight outta New York….

      1. KAM: Which is nothing, Rutgers lost its season opener to UMass 37–21 on September 3, 2026, ending a 16-game FBS losing streak for the Minutemen and marking the worst defeat of Greg Schiano’s second stint as Rutgers head coach

        DONB: They lost to UMass!

      1. KAM: It’s a very hostile atmosphere- the band plays Bruce Springsteen songs…

DON: …and the crowd pelts their opponents with White Castle Hamburgers!

    1. IN OTHER WORDS, GEORGE, SC HAS HAD GOOD ‘WEATHER BUT YOU SEE STORMS UP AHEAD COMING FROM OREGON AND OHIO.

THESE 2 SCHOOLS ARE NOTHING BUT TROUBLEMAKERS

  4. KAM: Since SC is a sure winner over the Nite-Nites, it is time to move on to Oregon thoughts

DON: Yeah, the Ducks– I never much liked ducks growing up. Didn’t even give them a second thought

  5. DON: Oregon has tortured SC soundly and their players carry that attitude of having just beat these guys, them again?

KAM: –And SC comes in as proverbial lambs ready to put up their best

  6. DON: I don’t put much stock in Oregon’s loss at Oklahoma, it was a combination of factors and it wasn’t the Ducks’ day. They will have a better day

KAM: –But let it not be against the Trojans

    1. KAM: Your technique: Find a product for sale knowing the product will eventually be sold to someone.
      Make a stupidly wild offer.
Give the other party time to stew and simmer then respond.
Take some of the bombast out of the original ‘offer’ in your follow up.
Allow the thinking people on the other side to work on the hair-on-fire crowd.
Work through the details piece-by-piece, figure out what’s important.
‘Give back’ some of the original ‘gotta haves.’
Reach a deal that works for everyone (“everyone” except those who can’t be negotiated with because they’re too hard-headed to understand their own needs and would bleed to death because they “don’t like” the guy who offered them a bandage)
      Make the deal.
Then laugh at the people who thought you an egotistical buffoon.

      DON: …Again…

  7. KAM: Nice to see those smiling SC Trojan band members living it up in New York City, the ‘Land of the Giant Buildings’

    1. KAM: The Pete Carroll advice that played role in Lane Kiffin choosing LSU over Ole Miss: “I talked to some mentors, coach Carroll, coach Saban,” he said. “And especially when Coach Carroll said, ‘Your dad would tell you to go, man. Take the shot. Take the shot, you accomplished a lot [at Ole Miss].'”

DON: Tonight is a huge game!

  8. DON: I see where Mississippi is forbidding the wearing of anything with LSU on it. We are talking 1st Amendment rights here

KAM: They fear the usually good folks of Mississippi will not show Kffin any Southern Hospitality. There is precedent with him. When he abandoned Tennessee and later returned, Kiff claims he was pelted with bottles and batteries

    1. Trouble reading this morning.

It’s only in the Old Miss student section where that ban is being enforced. Obviously, they’re doing this for the safety of the person who would be crazy (or drunk) enough to wear LSU gear in the middle of them.

  9. KAM: Another reason why the “Kiffin Game” is of interest is that it is a match between 2 Top-10 teams

DON: Which last occurred in 1962, a mere 74 years ago

      1. Believe he meant such a matchup occurring between LSU and Ole Miss … USC has played in numerous matchups of that type since 1962 … just none post-Pete (except perhaps the Sagan-Helton and Meyer-Helton KOs). If Charles Nelson Wiley has anything to say about it, none further will occur in the immediate future.

  10. DON: Kiffin talks about how you can have an argument and yet both sides might be right

KAM: I liked how he said he has had 3 long-term relationships with girls and that he is not good at breaking up (with colleges either)

    1. As hard as it has been to compute (Robot – Lost in Space), USC is actually worse under No’Riley than under Huff’n’Puff Captain Benteen Clay Helton. I so wish I could get paid as much to be criminally incompetent as the people responsible for both of them.
