One thing I mentioned on the Petros and Money show is that Lincoln Riley leaving for another school would be a much easier option than buying that onerous buyout.
But who would want him?
How about Baylor? Dave Aranda is on the hot seat, they are located in Texas and play in the Big 12. Sounds perfect for Riley. Now everyone please tell him that.
- The under-fire Pete Arbogast did an interview with Seattle sports-talk radio host Dave “Softy” Mahler. He was asked if he saw the hit on Dante Moore differently than he did on Saturday.
“Oh for sure. But he came in late….I didn’t see any of the taunting….I wasn’t looking at it because I was watching Dante. I don’t pay any attention to what’s happening on the Internet, let me tell you. If I did that I’d drive myself crazy. I’m too busy to look at that stuff. I’ve got a game to get ready for.
“I got the call wrong. And it’s not the first time and probably, well I’ve got five years or so in my career, it probably won’t be the last time.”
- In case you missed my appearance on Petros and Money yesterday, have no fear. You can listen below at the 45-minute mark, and as usual, I did not hold back.
KAM: Ton-o-Hel, Kiff and Cutty Sark did alright after their SC gigs
DON: But Wiley might be cut from different cloth

Sark got sober, Kiffin grew up (though not all that much), but Clay is still Clay, his record for the mighty war eagles at Georgia Southern is 18-18.
But, Sark and Kiffin are HCs of the number 1 and number 11 teams.

No different than many women who don’t lose the extra 30-50 lbs until after they get divorced and are on the prowl again.
If only they had done that while they were married, (i.e. still the coach at USC).

Good on for Arbo to take accountability.
The guy with the $72 million buy out won’t… instead it is the following:
“We did some good things in that game even though we were home and the quacks had their second string QB in, and we lost by the same number of points as last year in Eugene, when the quacks were a lot better and we were supposedly worse.”

67, ArboGASBAG had no choice. Funny, he wouldn’t do an interview with any LA station, he went to a Seattle station to own his stupidity, guy is a clown.

Wolf said nothing on Petros that he doesn’t say here.
Only thing was where is SC going to get the money to buy Riley out, all the old big money guys are dead or close to it and they have one suing them sooooooooooooo.
SC has to hope Baylor would take this clown to get out from under his moronic contract ( thanks Bohn, wherever you are ), are they that stupid ? We can only hope so.

KAM: Wolfie was lucid but his comments don’t always ring true
DON: Like how SC doesn’t have any leaders and Wiley is not a leader of men. What the Trojans really need are leaders on the field

KAM: SC Homer Arbogast says a lot of things. I’m sure he didn’t like what Tom Hoffarth said about him,.
Tom Hoffarth’s specific criticism of Pete Arbogast centered on unprofessionalism, extreme home-team bias (“homerism”), and an inability to maintain journalistic objectivity.
When Hoffarth made Arbogast the “headliner” of his annual “Dubious Dozen of the Sports Media” list in the LA Daily News, his critique focused on two major areas:
1. Trivializing the Prestige of the USC Broadcast Booth
Hoffarth argued that Arbogast compromised the dignity of his position as the official voice of a major university sports program. By choosing to appear as a guest on Jim “The Poorman” Trenton’s low-budget, late-night internet show “LuvCh@t”—which carried a sleazy, infomercial-style aesthetic—Arbogast was seen as lowering the standards expected of an elite LA sports media figure.
2. Prioritizing Cheerleading Over Objective Journalism
Beyond that single internet appearance, Hoffarth used his columns to critique Arbogast’s broader broadcasting style. He frequently pointed out that Arbogast acted more like an uncritical cheerleader for the university than a professional journalist covering the game. Hoffarth argued that a team’s official play-by-play announcer should still retain enough objectivity to call a game accurately rather than reflexively defending the home team at all costs.

Does this guy ever listen to homer sports announcers for other teams?

DON: So a buyout means SC is continuing to pay Wiley’s $10+ million dollars for the next 5 years, disposing of his staff and bringing in a new coach and staff might be in the vicinity of $100-million or more
KAM: That’s not going to happen. Wiles will be back at least for 2027

KAM: We were promised a windfall for USC for joining the Big 18 which would mean we should have plenty of cash to buy out Riley Coyote.

The $60-million or so Big-10 contract pays for football and all the other non-revenue producing sports, and we are told that $60-mil is not enough

It only needs to be about $11M PER YEAR, for the next 6 years.
“Only”, as if that is a small amount. LOL!!
But compared to $60M+, it is.

It is 6 years, if that info ’67 gave us was accurate…getting a 1 year extension for reaching the conference championship the first year.

KAM: When asked about linebacker Desman Stephens II, red-shirt senior safety Prophet Brown shared that he has spoken with the team and that they will continue to support him during this trying moment.
DON: Prophet also commented on the much maligned defense that gave up 504 years in total offense:“I feel like we mesh really well and when we’re doing good, we’re doing really good. But when stuff doesn’t go bad, we kind of got to raise our floor a little bit better, you know what I’m saying? So, I think we we got a lot of potential that just needs to bring our bad plays to not so bad place, you know what I’m saying? But yeah, we’re we’re staying together through this whole process.”
