Sunday Night With Clay Helton
USC coach Clay Helton said defensive end Christian Rector and cornerback Chris Steele are “right on the cusp” of returning from ankle injuries. Helton said offensive tackle Drew Richmond just wasn’t feeling great, wasn’t feeling like himself. Redshirt freshman Liam Jimmons started and played all but three series. Helton said wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown‘s physicality reminds im of Robert Woods. Helton praised the team’s … Continue reading Sunday Night With Clay Helton
Progress Report: No One Said USC Sucked Wind
Aren’t you glad Graham Harrell didn’t say Kenan Christon was “sucking wind” at Colorado? Christon had 14 carries at high altitude so it’s a mild surprise Harrell didn’t mention it since Markese Stepp was accused of barely handling 10 carries at Notre Dame. We Have An Opening Line For USC-Oregon
Oregon opened a 7-point favorite over USC according to an early line from Las Vegas-based Circa Sports. It is now 6.5 points. That’s more points than I expected but I’m not an oddsmaker. Forget about top 10 teams, does the Pac-12 have any good teams? Oregon and QB Justin Herbert mostly looked average in the few times I’ve seen them play. Utah has one loss but looked … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: A Top 10 Team Coming to Coliseum?

A Road Win To Be Savored?
My guess is a large majority of USC fans want Clay Helton removed as head coach. But there is a faction that said last night to just be happy and accept last night’s “road win” as a big deal. They said the fact USC survived is all that matters. This is the era of low expectations. Any win is a big win. The sloppiness or … Continue reading A Road Win To Be Savored?
