USC Sunday Buzz: Where Are The Trojans?
Now that Taylor Mays left for Washington, it means there is not a single coach at USC who is a Trojan. One thing Lincoln Riley hasn’t done is make sure any Trojans are on the coaching staff. That’s probably one reason there is so little understanding of the traditions of the program. Mays was almost an afterthought. Kept around from the Helton era but never … Continue reading USC Sunday Buzz: Where Are The Trojans?
USC Hires Rob Ryan
Long-time NFL assistant Rob Ryan has been hired as linebackers coach and assistant head coach of the defense by USC. Ryan is a good coach and the move was obviously made by defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn, who worked with Ryan in 2016 with the Baltimore Ravens and 2021 with the Buffalo Bills. What Happened To Tradition?
Tradition is obviously in short supply at USC as I mentioned yesterday that it hasn’t inducted a Hall of Fame class since 2018. Then today, the athletic dept. barely mustered a three-paragraph obituary on Gus Williams. You can read it here. Thankfully, Williams got inducted into the USC Hall of Fame in 2009 and had his number retired in 2016. But three paragraphs? It’s a … Continue reading What Happened To Tradition?

Today at 4 p.m. is the first scheduled class at USC for Pete Carroll. The two-unit course is called “The Game is Life” and is co-taught with USC Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life Varun Soni. The class is “designed to help students develop their personal gameplan for life after graduation, while using their USC education to conquer challenges along the way.” The class has … Continue reading USC’s Begins ‘The Game is Life’ with Pete Carroll
