USC Promoting Big Ten Games
The USC Hotel, which is across the street from campus and owned by the university, is trying to drum up business by sending out a promotional email telling fans to book rooms for Big Ten home games. They might better off sending that email to Penn State and Wisconsin fans. From the email: We are five months away from the Trojans officially joining the Big Ten conference! … Continue reading USC Promoting Big Ten Games
Did Steve Sarkisian Underachieve?
Did Steve Sarkisian underachieve last season? I realize that is in many ways always a rhetorical question with Sarkisian. But Texas had a school-record 11 players at the NFL combine and wide receiver Xavier Worthy ran a 4.21 40-yard dash. And they lost to Washington. He got a contract extension so Texas must be happy. But maybe last season was a huge missed opportunity, especially … Continue reading Did Steve Sarkisian Underachieve?
Morning Buzz: A Fresh Perspective On USC
Sometimes, it helps to get a different perspective. Even the smallest things that we always take for granted are noticed by a first-timer. I stumbled across this video of an English soccer fan attending his first college football game, and it just happened to be the USC-Washington slug out at the Coliseum last season. When he sees a “Fight On” sign on the USC campus, … Continue reading Morning Buzz: A Fresh Perspective On USC
When Do Constant Visits Translate To Recruiting Success?

I’ve written about how he was an unofficial mascot for the great Crenshaw 715 American Legion team … Continue reading When Do Constant Visits Translate To Recruiting Success?
USC Notes: Some Coaches Lucky Enough To Stay In So Cal
Tim Drevno, who was fired yesterday as UCLA offensive line coach, had a pretty good run in Southern California the past decade. And when I say pretty good run, I mean he got to live here and coach. He was at USC in 2014; went to Michigan from 2015-17; returned to USC from 2018-20 and then was at UCLA from 2021-23. And he still has … Continue reading USC Notes: Some Coaches Lucky Enough To Stay In So Cal
USC Morning Buzz: A Perfect Job For Pete Carroll
I keep hearing that Pete Carroll is having a tough time coming to terms with the fact no NFL teams offered him a job after his dismissal by the Seattle Seahawks. Maybe USC can hire Carroll as a consultant. He could offer some defensive pointers to D’Anton Lynn and help Lincoln Riley improve his people skills. Get him to agree to a couple public appearances … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: A Perfect Job For Pete Carroll
