USC Morning Buzz: Expectations A Problem? More Like Excuses
It’s not the expectations that weighed USC down, but the excuses. But Lincoln Riley made this comment on his weekly “Trojans Live” comedy club appearance. “Did the expectations weigh us down at times this year? Yes,” Riley said. “But I’m never going to compromise the expectations. We’ve just got to learn how to handle them better.” USC, which was one game away from the College … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Expectations A Problem? More Like Excuses
It Pays To Remember What Lincoln Riley Says
One thing that benefits Lincoln Riley is no one remembers what he says. For example, he said last week “Everything should be a little cleaner this week” for the defense in Week 2 with the co-interim defensive coordinators. Does this look cleaner? But you try running with that … Continue reading Morning Buzz: USC-UCLA Report Card
USC Sunday Buzz: A Four-Point Plan That Must Be Implemented
If Lincoln Riley cared about the defense as much as his parking spot, USC would be in the College Football Playoff. Here is what needs to be rebuilt: New defensive staff New offensive line coach New strength coaches New recruiting philosophy. Be more aggressive, especially with local recruits. At a minimum, USC needs to address these four areas. Even if they do, Riley needs to … Continue reading USC Sunday Buzz: A Four-Point Plan That Must Be Implemented
USC-UCLA: Lincoln Riley Has Lost It
A new low for Lincoln Riley today. He showed up for this game as if it were Washington State. He didn’t look like he cared. His team went through the motions. The Coliseum was eerily quiet because the fans waited for something to happen that never did. I’ve seen plenty of unprepared USC football teams but this was one of the worst. Riley called a … Continue reading USC-UCLA: Lincoln Riley Has Lost It
