USC Routs Lamar, So Now What?
USC blew out Lamar, 19-6, today and will play the loser of tonight’s Texas State-Texas A&M game on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT. The TV situation is TBD. It would be nice if ESPN actually picked up a game. Mason Edwards pitched 4.1 innings today, so does that mean he is available at some point this weekend? It’s all hands on deck right now. The … Continue reading USC Routs Lamar, So Now What?
Saturday Buzz: USC Season On Brink After Devastating Loss
What’s the saying about how insanity is “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” USC’s baseball season is one loss away from being over after a shocking 5-4 loss to Texas State on Friday night. The Trojans led 4-3 going into the ninth after a home run in the eighth by Adrian Lopez. So what happens in the ninth? An … Continue reading Saturday Buzz: USC Season On Brink After Devastating Loss
If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column
In his latest ESPN MLB mock draft, Kiley McDaniel has the Mets selecting USC pitcher Mason Edwards with the No. 27 overall pick. USC’s Ashley Erasmus broke her own shot put record of 18.07m from earlier this season with a new mark of 18.30m Thursday at the NCAA West Regionals in Fayetteville, Ark. Only the NCAA could consider Arkansas the West Regional. Among the many … Continue reading If It’s Friday, It’s Time For A USC Notes Column

Well, today USC coach Andy Stankiewicz said he will start No. 2 pitcher Grant Govel tomorrow against Texas State and save Edwards for the big game Saturday against host Texas A&M. Some might view its as a risk but if USC beats Texas … Continue reading Andy Stankiewicz Makes Big Rotation Change For USC At Regionals
Morning Buzz: History Suggests USC Opener Could Be Unforgettable
If you want further proof of how ridiculous it is for USC to play a 12 p.m. game on August 29th, here is something to ponder: Since 2019, USC has played only one early season home game before 3 p.m. That game was also against San Jose State (of course) in 2021 at 2 p.m. It was 85 degrees at kick off. Remember the 2022 … Continue reading Morning Buzz: History Suggests USC Opener Could Be Unforgettable
USC Kickoff Times Are As Bad As Expected
The USC-San Jose State game will kick off at 12 p.m. PT and be on NBC. A noon kickoff on August 29th? Are they having a laugh? Will it be 100 degrees that day? Could they have come up with a more fan-unfriendly time to start a game in Los Angeles? No thank you. The Louisiana game on Sept. 12 will start at 8 p.m. … Continue reading USC Kickoff Times Are As Bad As Expected
