USC Notes: A Massively Tone-Deaf Decision
Talk about tone deaf. This is an amazing bit of scheduling by the USC Alumni Assn. An event in New York City on 9/11? Hmmm. Maybe they could find like any other night of the year. I can’t help but think this is the result of the university taking over control of alumni clubs and disbanding the local groups. No one living in New York … Continue reading USC Notes: A Massively Tone-Deaf Decision
USC Morning Buzz: Buy a Brick For Coliseum
The latest fundraising scheme involves buying a brick at the Coliseum. It’s called the Centennial Legacy Walkway and will be somewhere “in the shadow of the Coliseum peristyle.” Brick prices range from $250 to $2,500. Here’s some examples of the bricks. The $2,500 version is on the far left. Who’s in? Note: I’d like to see something like these with the names of USC All-Americans … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: Buy a Brick For Coliseum
Raleek Brown On Scout Team
Raleek Brown spent part of today’s practice on the scout team. Lincoln Riley addressed it after practice: “That was just our decision today as coaches. Raleek’s a really good player but there’s a lot of really good players here. The margins are really, really thin between a lot of guys. “If I start going down the names of guys I’ve had play reps on the … Continue reading Raleek Brown On Scout Team
USC Notes: A Friendly Analysis Of The Defense
I don’t really disagree with Fox analyst Joel Klatt’s analysis of the USC defense. But here’s the thing: If you read this blog, you know I always zeroed in on the secondary first and Klatt doesn’t even mention them below. That’s a convenient omission especially when Fox is always striving to be USC friendly with its cozy relationship and stable of lackeys (Colin Cowherd). “The … Continue reading USC Notes: A Friendly Analysis Of The Defense
Bronny James Update
It’s taken awhile but we finally have someone from USC saying Bronny James is attending classes. “The good thing is he’s doing extremely well and he’s in class right now. And we all love him,” Andy Enfield said. “I think everybody is hopeful that Bronny will return to the court. We just have to be patient and take it step by step.” This means it … Continue reading Bronny James Update
Morning Buzz: Another Perspective On USC
I spoke to a Pac-12 coach who watched the USC-San Jose State game for his thoughts. “They don’t look like they got a whole better,” he said. “The defense is still missing assignments and playing out of position. We’ll see if they can get more physical when the schedule gets tougher. “You have to be a physical defense to be elite. They aren’t physical yet … Continue reading Morning Buzz: Another Perspective On USC
