USC Morning Buzz: What A Difference Four Years Makes
It hasn’t been four years yet but many of the key figures from this classic video are either gone or taking lower profiles, like Mike Bohn, Carol Folt and Rick Caruso. Now if we can only say the same about Lincoln Riley. The way he is viewed today is much different than the adulation that came on this day. I don't follow college football closely … Continue reading USC Morning Buzz: What A Difference Four Years Makes
Notes: USC Presidents Retire But They Don’t Actually Depart
Before she departed yesterday, Carol Folt sent out a farewell statement. I won’t bore you with the details but Folt said she would transition to being a faculty member and that people might see her “in one of my classes.” Now it’s kind of a tradition for former USC presidents to teach after they retire but let’s see how this really works out. Is she … Continue reading Notes: USC Presidents Retire But They Don’t Actually Depart
USC Morning Buzz: Who Wants To Compete Less The Big Ten Or Lincoln Riley?
The Big Ten seems to want to compete about as much as Lincoln Riley. It’s widely known that the conference is pushing for four automatic bids in an expanded 16-team College Football Playoff. You know who has plenty of NIL? Georgia. Look at the football recruits and baseball transfers they have gotten in the past month. The Bulldogs currently have the No. 1 recruiting class for 2026 per Rivals. Continue reading USC Notes: Georgia Keeping Busy
Monday Buzz: An Official Change At Top But Anxiety Remains High At USC
USC president Carol Folt’s tenure/reign officially ends at midnight today. But the relief many employees expected to feel this week has now turned to anxiety as layoffs and budget cuts loom with an announcement expected soon. It could come as soon as Tuesday because Folt did not want USC to disclose its financial problems until she left office. Like people would think she wasn’t responsible … Continue reading Monday Buzz: An Official Change At Top But Anxiety Remains High At USC
Sunday Buzz: One Team Losing The Transfer Portal
Five-star linebacker Xavier Griffin, who previously had been committed to USC, committed to Alabama today. USC isn’t exactly moving into the new Dedeaux Field (or whatever it might call it) in style given that it lost its best pitcher, a top relief pitcher and second-best hitter to the transfer portal. I’d love to know what USC is giving the baseball program in NIL right now. Continue reading Sunday Buzz: One Team Losing The Transfer Portal
