If It’s Friday, It’s Time For An (Ominous) USC Notes Column
I mentioned this week that an ominous announcement could be coming from USC. Several sources said USC is going to announce a 6 percent reduction in university-wide staff and no merit increases for the next three years. This is the result of a deficit for the current fiscal year that is expected to be more than last year’s figure of $158 million. USC Morning Buzz: An Amazing Churn Rate
USC men’s basketball lost 15 players from last year’s roster. Eric Musselman has brought in 13 new players. That doesn’t even include the 11 players who left two years ago in Andy Enfield’s last year plus the three players who committed but never showed up after Enfield left. One reason it matters is because some fans are actually worried about attending what is potentially the last USC-Notre Dame game. Not that the powers … Continue reading Morning Buzz: Anxious Time For Some USC Fans
USC Notes: Football Spin At Its Best/Worst
This is the spin that Lincoln Riley wants, to say the 110,000-square foot McKay Center, which opened in 2012, is “average at best.” It’s a rationalization for the $200-million football building that Riley demanded as soon as he got hired. It’s funny this video highlights the McKay Center while criticizing it. USC hopes the new, much-needed $200 million performance center takes the Trojans to another … Continue reading USC Notes: Football Spin At Its Best/Worst
