One of the nice things USC did over the years was let the Los Angeles City Section host the Open and Division 1 baseball playoff semifinals at Dedeaux Field for a reasonable price. Makai Lemon, Romello Height, Zacariah Branch, Ja’Kobi Lane and Emmanuel Pregnon were all selected in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft. Lincoln Riley had all these players in 2024 and went 7-6 at USC. Talk about an indictment of his coaching. Seven wins. Branch and especially Height also got noticeably better after leaving USC.
