Why is Clay Helton suddenly closing practices Tuesday and Wednesday except for the first 20 minutes? Maybe he is tired of hearing that practices are not physical enough and do not have enough tackling. Of course, Helton is probably also doing it because he doesn’t want to be questioned about anything but the tackling issue has been around for several years. And if reporters are … Continue reading One Reason For Clay Helton To Close Practices

The Pac-12 media poll comes out tomorrow. Where will USC be selected? In my own poll for the Sporting News, I picked Utah to win the Pac-12 South over USC. Clay Helton might be a buffoon but that is no excuse from shirking media duties. He gets paid more than $3 million a year but cannot answer questions on Wednesdays during the season. Carroll had a lot less to answer for, apparently. Helton has also decided that only the first 20 minutes of Tuesday/Wednesday practices will be open to the media. In past years, the entire practice was … Continue reading Looks Like Clay Helton Is Feeling The Heat

The mysterious situation of tight end Daniel Imatorbhebhe was finally cleared up today. He is listed among squadmen lost in the USC media guide. Imatorbhebhe has battled injuries but USC’s never really given a good explanation for his status. Two years ago, he was projected by some as a preseason All-American. Two years later, he is done without much to show for it. Continue reading Daniel Imatorbhebhe No Longer On Team
