USC’s defensive line must replance Rasheem Green and Josh Fatu. But defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu, who should replace Fatu, will miss spring as he recovers from the back injury incurred during the season.

Whatever happened to highly touted defensive end Connor Murphy? He was a four-star player ranked among the nation’s top 200 players.

And since he has been at USC, he has been a non-entity. Is that on him or the coaches? Who really knows? The coaches moved linebacker Jordan Iosefa into the injured Porter Gustin’s spot when Gustin was injured. But that was after giving Murphy some snaps there. So Clancy Pendergast is obviously not impressed.

Iosefa is probably going to replace Uchenna Nwosu, a spot where Murphy might have been considered two years ago.

Defensive end Oluwole Betiku is also out following hip injury. But did the coaches ever show an inclination to play him last season? He was a non-factor and has been a disappointment too.
