USC lost to Washington, 9-5, at Dedeaux Field today. The Huskies won the series, 2-1. This comes on the heels of USC getting swept at Stanford last weekend and outscored, 34-2.
USC is now 3-6 in the Pac-12 and 13-11 overall. And Washington is 6-3 despite a 13-11 overall record. Here’s a worse stat: Since 2010, Washington is 10-2 at Dedeaux Field and has won four-straight series. That’s unforgivable.
A former USC player tells me there is talent on the current roster and the pitchers are good enough to make the Trojans an upper echelon Pac-12 team.
This might be true. But at some point, USC baseball needs to improve. And I highly doubt Lynn Swann wants to deal with it. He will simply dish it off to an assistant.
Too bad Swann doesn’t address this situation. They won’t make it to the playoffs this season and will miss the playoffs by a few games. Too bad

The obvious is to find a new coach who has proven his worth elsewhere.
Ever since Gillespie left it has been a joke with who is leading the Trojans on the diamond. The athletic dept. has been asleep when it comes to this program for the last 15 years. This year’s team has a weak lineup especially for the college game with one top starter.
