USC released its nonconference basketball schedule today, which is earlier than usual. Perhaps Andy Enfield is proud of it. But other than the previously announced game with Nevada, is it dramatically better?
USC is hosting Vanderbilt and playing Oklahoma in Tulsa, but those are merely the second year of home-and-home series with those schools.
The other big game is TCU at Staples Center on Dec. 7.
But if USC went to a marquee tournament, it would probably play similar or better teams. For example, the NIT season tip-off features Kansas, Louisville, Marquette and Tennessee. You don’t think USC could play in that?
Look below at the usual suspects: Robert Morris, Stetson, Cal State Bakersfield, Long Beach State, UC Davis, Santa Clara and Southern Utah.
This will not increase home ticket sales, as USC averaged only 4,151 at the Galen Center last year.

My notice to renew the tickets came out yesterday. SC is collecting as much money as they can as fast as they can. Season doesn’t start until Mid October. They get to collect interest on the money. Plus shipping and handling charges are enough to buy another ticket. But I will buy.

Terrible schedule of junk teams especially at home except for the one
game vs. Nevada. Teams like Robert Morris, Stetson, CSUB, Long Beach St., UC Davis, So. Utah, and Vandy ( women maybe ). Not one Big 10 team at home. All more than likely on the tube in any case.
