Someone Should Be Thankful For Clay Helton

All the turmoil with football takes even more spotlight off the USC basketball program.

Even under the best of times, few care about basketball. But Andy Enfield is really living with no scrutiny right now.

No one cares he is 3-19 against ranked teams. No one cares he just lost to TCU, 96-61. Arizona State and Nevada had more fans at Staples Center on Friday than USC.

No one cares USC hasn’t done much with its talent the past four seasons.

It’s a pretty good job to have for a coach. No pressure. No accountability. Then again, the USC football coach right now doesn’t seem to have accountability either.

    1. Why are you amazed. You follow USC more closely than I do. At this point, you should be well versed in SC’s incompetence at all administrative levels.

  1. Didn’t they just win 3 games in the tourney 2 years ago? And they got screwed (universally considered) by the NCAA tourney committee last season. So no, he’s not doing terribly. #1 rated recruiting class this year. BONG, Scottie!

  2. Let’s stop responding to the two SUCLA a**holes. Let’s do so as we recognize that SUCLA is, and always will be, a second tier Power 5 football team with their lone National Championship back in the 50s somewhere and their lone (and undeserving) Heisman Trophy winner somewhere in the mid 60s. Were talking 60 – 70 years since SUCLA has done anything worthy of national attention.

  3. Commie Lush lashes out at JustOwns: “Never ever reply to that fool….he has nothing in his life but his acid towards USC. Truly a sick sewer living troll”

Gee Commie Lush, remind me the last I beat the dead body of a bozo Icon. In fact, I’ve never said a bad word regarding Helton. I tend to pick on highly paid bozo BB HC’s that does his best coaching vs hand picked cupcakes.

  4. well, if one does not count that he took over a program with the usual SC self inflicted demise …he has produced 20+ win seasons the last 3-4 yrs and finishes in the top third of the Pac 12, 2nd last yr losing in the championship game…this yr could have been a championship yr if the 2 still eligible players from last year had returned metu and Melton…add over 1/2 the team couldn’t even practice until a couple weeks ago and some are still injured or recovering from something…every sport team needs it’s starters to play and practice consistently…

  5. Next years team will be dangerous. They will be heavy deep. Plus the freshmen class that is #1 in the nation will be playing with an impact like USC has never seen from freshman basketball in the programs history. If you have a chance go check out a game with Rancho Christian.

    1. Sammy, way too much hyperbole.

Andyain’twinning coached the bozo veteran BB team, ranked #7 in the pre-season BB poll, that failed to receive an NCAA tournament invitation.

So, Andyain’twinning accepted a second-tier NIT bid and his team flunked out the tournament in its second round home game.

Question is Sammy, will Andyain’twinning, who just lost the TCU game by 35 points, still be the SUCCX BB coach next year? Will SUCCX have a Men’s BB program after the NCAA finishes its investigation into Mr. Bland’s bozo illegal recruiting activities.

      1. Yes he will be the coach. I think the way USC has allowed its teams to have poor seasons in football gives Andy more time than he deserves but if his team next season doesn’t show it’s worth of the potential it’s going to have then Andy will feel some pressure i would imagine. We’re not getting in trouble for that other stuff. It’s really not even an issue from what they say Andy and his program were not aware of Blands side gig and we aren’t feeling the ncaa coming at us.

  6. Jamie Dixon is coaching TCU now. Sc was looking at him but did not pick him up. Just wondering how he would have done if SC had picked him up. He is from Burbank.

  7. USC basketball will always be the same. There is little interest or support unless they are doing really well. Rarely sell out the Galen center. The Pac12 basketball conference currently has 1 team in the top 25. Which is pathetic ? The conference needs a strong bowl season in football or its quickly becoming irrelevant in revenue sports on the national level.
