Rick Caruso, who is the chair of USC’s Board of Trustees, pulled his application to Los Angeles Country Club after business leaders and USC alumni protested him joining after Caruso’s handling of the firing of business school dean Jim Ellis, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Excerpt: “[The LACC] got a lot of angry calls about Rick — so he pulled his application,” said one source with knowledge of the club’s application process.
If Caruso wants to play golf, he should call Lynn Swann.
Rick shouldn’t feel bad. When you stop to think about it, very, very few people are good or pure enough to be members of the Los Angeles Country Club….

MG, is Scottie reading the comments now? Pudly sprung the story in his last comment earlier today.

Here’s how I believe it works, 67 —- we write our comments, Petros reviews them for worthiness & passes the best on to Swann’s Office, Swann then reports directly to Scott.

Why would the LACC want a low life like Rick Caruso? They didn’t let Bob Hope or Bing Crosby in. Letting Caruso in would be like letting Owns in. Can you imagine?

Linkster –You know that Owns has been asked to join several times and declined, right?

Wait a minute – does Owns own a pair of golf slacks? Or does he follow his hero Swann in wearing Levis?

For the last several years, Owns plays in a sexy little Amish outfit.

Best reply was when Victor Mature tried to join the Wilshire Country Club who refused to consider his application because he was a ‘thespian’ …. classic comeback!

You watch. Rick Caruso will end up buying the Country Club and ousting the people who were making a stink about his application.
