Here’s a good illustration of how Clay Helton does not develop players.

Yes, Alv! Time to give Helton a job he’d actually be very good at: Public Relations Secretary for the University of Southern California.

Chuma speaks:
“I had a little rocky career at USC, but they were really just stressing that you have to turn over a new leaf and create a new you.”
The USC product, who protected Sam Darnold for all 12 games in 2017, earned player of the week honors at the Senior Bowl. A two-year starter at right tackle for the Trojans, the 6’3”, 308-pounder is ready to take the jump to the next level.
“Just consistency, being consistent and ready to go at all times,” Edoga said of his goals. “This is professional, this is a job now. You can’t be on and off, up and down. You have to be even keeled the whole way.”

I kinda wish he hadn’t contrasted USC play with NFL play by saying he can’t be “on and off, up and down” anymore…..

Well that is his SC career in a nut shell. I’ll never forget him getting 2 holding penalties in a row (the second one after the ball was thrown) and he just giggled like a little girl.

All our o-lineman liked to giggle after motion penalties —leads me to think Callaway told them “whenever you get called for motion just giggle in the ref’s face —it’s a great way of winning them over.”

Edoga giggle because he knew the refs were selectively calling penalties, as they do in the PAC 12.

When I walked over to the Coliseum yesterday here’s what I observed – The gardens as you walk directly south across Exposition to the science museum through the rose gardens there is that rectangular wide sidewalk with that 3+ foot wall that surrounds the ‘sunken’ rose garden. There are some very large trees that are very close to Exposition Blvd. – the problem is they have some kind of ‘fruit’ or ‘nut’ or something that must drop all year long. The walkway is kind of slippery but worse it is really really dirty and I mean dirty. The fruit/nut kind of squishes if you step on it. I doubt the area has had a steam cleaning in years. Once you step down into the rose garden, not a problem but that area on the north side directly across from USC before you step down is the pits!.
Narrow iron bar fence painted black about with bars about 4 inches apart and 8+ feet high completely surrounds the entire Coliseum. There is a 3-4 inch space on the bottom of the fence. Sections are about 6 feet wide. That video I posted that was recorded 17th April – you see section # 303 Scott described and the corresponding one on the western edge of that ‘space ship – luxury liner pressbox/or replica of Candy Spelling penthouse – 10000 SM Blvd – still no seats. Perhaps that’s where the ‘staff’ will be seated (on both sides mind you) prior to being summoned to Haden’s ‘manse’ – it is huge and looms over the entire south side – another permanent reminder of Haden’s ‘commitment’.

Always love it when you describe your campus excursions…Thanks Alv!!

It’s only fitting, Alv. Without the Coliseum renovation, fans’ frustration with Haden may have died down in a few years…

Mike it is huge as noted by ‘trojanation’ I mean huge! I will say it could have been worse ie what the ‘progressive mindset’ idiots did to Soldier Field in Chicago. At least the outer shell is the same and that’s because a lot of preservationists were well aware of the fate that Soldier Field had –

Clown reminds me of Earvin Johnson ie always with the large ‘faux’ scissors at ‘openings’ except w.o. Johnson’s charm or business acumen.
Need to make sure the cry is loud enough to ensure Swann is sacked and he and Helton can go peddle their joint idiocy in the Conf. USA Summer Camp hosted in Birmingham-AL

Thanks, Cal75. With out luck, Swann and Helton were sitting around breakfast this morning talking about quitting when they read your post, looked at each other, and simultaneously blurted out, “We fight on….and on….and…”

Cal I hated English, I hated those that taught it and those that brag they know it better than the rest of us…you know English was my 3rd language ,and I wasn’t born here to parents who speak it like some of you lucky fellas.

P76,
A little personal history. I was a horrible English student in high school. My sister, English major Davis. My cuz, English major CAL & college professor. My Aunt, English major. My other Aunt, high school English teacher.. My step mom, English major SJ State ’39-legal secretary. Everybody in my family gets it. But me.
So in my HS senior English class we were going around the room announcing where we were headed next year. I announce CAL. My English teacher nearly gags. I guess she had me headed for a trade school.
On my SAT, I get a 1345. I will never forget that phuking score. Know why? 800math, 545English. A 550verbal is needed to pass out of ‘bonehead English’ at CAL. 16hrs a week & zero credits. Mon-tues-wed-thurs 6pm to 10pm every phuking weekday night my freshman qtr. In addition to three classes. Chem for majors, physics & math for non major. In addition to freshman football. Frankly I’m surprised I found time for Tuborg.
The ‘bonehead’ class was taugh by a USMC DI. I kid you not. AH!
MG, don’t feel badly about being a delinquent. My mom’s Italian family couldn’t get in through Ellis Island. My Italian grandad had ‘history’ as they say in the old country. Canada was our friend.
I shall relinquish the roll of grammar nazi. You guys have really stepped up & improved. I just want one more shot at the Mule. Fucla.

Thank you for letting up on our use of the English language —you were making Pudly and me into nervous wrecks.
