Comments To Remember At USC Inauguration

USC trustee Rick Caruso spoke at the inauguration of new president Carol Folt.

Some excerpts: “As an institution, we lost our humilty for awhile . . . The truth is that the university did not listen well enough. It did not hear the voices.
“We are the midst of reweaving and restoring the original fabric of this university.”

UPDATED: And from Folt: “I want to assure you, we will continue to tackle these problems until they are corrected.”

  3. I would rather have heard ” This will be Clay Helton’s last game, Urban Meyer will be taking over the program immediately. I know there are many of you who have concerns about his past but hey, we had a President cover up drug abuse, sex abuse, had a pay to get your kid in scandal, not to mention booster hand picking the last AD, so, you know, we’ve all got something in our past.”

  5. Being busy in endeavors not football, I missed the boat on the Score thread. But alas, I’m ready after some serious contemplation.

    Will tonight bring a celebration embracing Queen..”We Are The Champions” rejoicing in victory…or the lamenting soliloquy of Prince Hamlet…”To be, or not to be” and it’s foreboding consequences ?

    I shall be bold and prognosticate.

        You’ve talked a bit about Helton’s emotional state in the event of having to attend a losing press conference post Utah (something I’m not 100% convinced he’ll have to do). I think —if it unfortunately comes to that — we’re going to see a re-enactment of Jimmy Cagney’s last moments from “Angels with Dirty Faces”…..

  6. If those words are to have any meaning, then Max Nikias should have no connection to the university going forward.

    The fact that he still has a role and a title and an office makes Mr. Caruso and President Folt’s words unconvincing.

    I have a very quick and final outcome to the liars and cheaters, line them up against the Bovard Wall and hand them their pink slips and televise it on the USC cable system.
