Of course I have to post this picture of the Bush Push, with yours truly in the Nottingham Forest jersey on the left. These final minutes were the most intense crowd atmosphere I ever experienced at a USC game. Being 10 yards from one of the biggest plays in USC-Notre Dame history didn’t hurt either.
But the crowd was unbelievable and don’t forget they had already stormed the field when it appeared the game ended, only to be told to go back to their seats for the fateful outcome. There was a wave of emotion that carried through the stadium on that final drive.
Later that season, I was in a similar area of the field for the end of another great game (USC-Texas) but the intensity level wasn’t quite the same.
One side note: On at least two occassions in the rivalry (1997, 2005), the visitors’ locker room suffered post-game damage from all the USC celebrating.
Green jerseys, not mowing the field and watering it down so it was like a bog and they still lost, fuck you Weis !

Scottie, hope you received some compensation from Capital One.
And what would a Scottie column be without a little snark:

He’s not even watching the play. It looks like he’s looking directly at the camera.

If only Reggie could find some way of getting on the field tomorrow and duplicating the effort he made in 2005 ……

Is that the only angle you have? Every year you post that same photo… I wonder why?? Hmmmm

What a shame an idiot who hates the program had such a great vantage point for that historic moment.
