Washington coach Chris Petersen has decided to step down and will assume a position in a “leadership advisory role for Husky Athletics.”
Defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake will become the Huskies’ new coach.
So Washington has lost and replaced its football coach while USC still sits on its hands so far today.
Maybe Mike Bohn should make a call to Petersen to see how much he really wants a break.
USC is doing what USC does these days, shit all over themselves

This just in! According to sources in the Heritage Hall, Coach Clay Helton just cleaned out his office… He is moving into the larger office in the corner because of the awesome job he did with running a clean program and achieving an eight win season with a back up quarterback!!

The “larger office in the corner” happens to be Carol Folt’s, Ted.

No way is Helton going now… With Petersen’s decision, Helton’s star is on the rise, and Bolt and Run aren’t going to terminate and ascending star…

Here is an interesting hypothetical.
Clay Helton is awarded a lifetime contract as head coach of the USC Trojans football program, supposedly on the pretext of the team’s “stunning” finish to the season, despite the unprecedented adversity of having a few injuries as a college football program.
Now, fast forward a couple of years. It emerges that Helton sent Carol Folt, the night before the cobtract was awarded, a signed photograph of his glutes, addressing her, with his characteristic Southern charm, as “honey” in the autograph. She resigns in disgrace at the “appearance” of impropriety. Could USC void the contract at that point?

Sami, If USC awarded a lifetime contract, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a laser dot on the chest of Helton as he lead the team on to the field. Someone (not me) is crazy enough to do it. even if it’s just a laser pointer. That’s the way to void a lifetime contract.

Congrats. Year’s Most Fucked Up Post….and there’s not time enough left in 2019 for anyone to top it.

Maybe Helton can get the Washington job, or an assistant coach position at U Dub. Or, he might be better qualified as a parking attendant on game day.

@Proud Trojan. The latter. That’s as close as he belongs to a coaching position at UDub, anyways.
Maybe UNLV QB coach. At best.

I could be 100% wrong here, but it seems to me that if CH was going to be retained that announcement would have already been made. There would be no reason to delay such a decision in light of the early recruiting period. Conversely, a delay could mean Folt and Bohn are putting the finishing touches on an exit package for CH and a new deal for the next head football coach. Having said that, Karma’s comment above about USC MO these days does ring true.

The Washington Post is reporting that fired New Mexico coach, Bob Davie, has been offered a 10 year $100 million contract by Folt “on account of his morality.”

Are you so sure about that MG you still have the 3 musketeer morons Owns, C bucket and Ted posting nonsense until the end 2019. They are so delusional that still call themselves Ucla fans even though those 3 are always stalking Trojan fans on this site. Then you have J methhead and yokhomo from the L.A. times comments on here also seeking attention. Never ever count out fucla stalker groupies about posting the worst crap nonsense on here. Hey Ted wash our damn dishes and cars then go f yourself when you’re finished got that troll.

At this point, it’s obvious that Mike Bohn is going to retain Clay Helton, because there’s not one reason in the world for the administration to let this linger as long as they have if they planned on firing him .

Unfortunately, I think you are right. Otherwise, why does he spend yesterday jerking around in Florida watching basketball. If Helton were in the process of being fired, Bohn would have been frantically at work lining up his replacement.

Here’s a question. If this guy is under contract, is an announcement really needed?

I like where your head is at, Johnny. USC NEVER announces anything — Helton just shows up at spring practice, “Happy Tuesday, everybody!”

P. S.
When informed that recruits are being told new staff will be a surprise, Bohn said, “Especially to me.”

The lesson I’ve learnt, 04?
Success in the Group of 5 does not always translate to success in Power5.
Peterson the genius had 1-2 good years at UW–some of it with Sark/Wilcox/Sirmon/Tuiasosopo recruits.
Shoulda’ beat UW this year in Seattle. They got to Fink.
We’ll see how Bohn sees it. I hope he knows CFB better than I.

So Petersen is going to be the next USC head football coach? Why else would he resign? I thought most of you would of connected the dots already. Instead most of you think Helton is staying. We will see how this plays out. Yesterday Bohn was out of town over the weekend. Today Petersen resigns from UW. Makes sense, Urban lives in Manhattan Beach so Bohn wasn’t out of town visiting him.

The guy on the grassy knowl Woody Harelsons dad. Collaborated by Fbi, Cia, Ss The mafia and LBJ to Kill Kennedy. It was revenge for all the shyt Kennedy stirred up against the mafia after they helped getting him elected by rigging the votes for him. Also he was going to change us back onto the gold standard. The head of the CIA fuced up the bay of pigs mission which made Kennedy look bad. When he told him to stand down and not to send in back up after the invasion. Kennedy fired his ass for being incompetent. Low and behold LBJ hires the same guy as head of the CIA again to lead the investigation into Kennedys death. Go look it up on you tube it’s all there.

Colin Cowheard said Petersen is retiring thats why he resigned as UW coach. Jolly John did the same thing to USC years ago. Only to take the Rams head coaching job a month later!

Correct on #1–Petersen doesn’t look like he enjoys it anymore.
But, hell, I could be wrong.
Incorrect on #2–we all knew JR was going to the Rams after the team meeting in 1982 after the UCLA game. Sent him out a winner at the Coli the next week vs ND. He took Hudson Houck, Gil Haskell, and all our great assistant coaches with him. Didn’t leave us much for 1983.

Usc didn’t need any those coaches you mentioned anyways. They were on probation when Jolly John left. Why would they stay for the mess Robinson left behind. No bowl games or tv exposure for a big time NFL job with a hefty raise! Think about it.

I looked it up, Petersen went to UC Davis. He’s 55 and people say he isn’t happy living in Seattle. Petersen made a lateral move going to UDub. Southern Cal was interested in him, but reports are he said no thanks, but look who was running the show. I haven’t heard of a connection between Bohn and Petersen, but that’s because I work during the day. Someone can find out.

Now, Washington is a profile in courage. We are a poor role model. We cannot make a simple ,obvious decision. And let us face it, it is obvious. Is this what we should expect out of this new leadership, if so, why did we change? We needed to hit the ground running. Harry Truman said”If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen”.
