Let’s say Mike Bohn wants to keep Clay Helton.

What happens if USC loses its bowl game?

More likely to me, USC wins its bowl game and then has a mediocre recruiting class, to set up months of discontent.

Things really get ugly when USC loses to Alabama in next year’s season opener.

So you have the people angry Helton is returning and then lose to Alabama. The following week USC hosts New Mexico at the Coliseum. Who will go to that game? What will the fans’ mood be?

Why would Bohn want to bring this upon himself?

    Then Jerry Jones hires Urban Meyer for the Cowboys.
    Then James Franklin uses USC to get a nice fat raise from Penn State.

      All of you better pray and hope that Mike bohn does the right thing and announce that clay helton has been extended for the rest of his life!

  4. Went to the last Alabama game and we’ll be going to this one. We’ll be at the New Mexico game the week after, as well. Cardinal & gold through & through! Not like the fair weather, SUCLA type of fans who claim they’re going to boycott until CH is fired. FIGHT ON!!

    1. Who gives a damn whether you go or not. Cardinal & Gold doesn’t mean you no shit about football , coaching or USC. My first game was in 1959
      vs. ucla which gives me 60 yrs. of intense scrutiny of Trojan football
      and all athletics. Forgot more than you will ever know about sports at

  7. Just because he doesn’t work according to your time line Wolf does not make him wrong. You do not know what you don’t know. Even your people in the know don’t know, so just go with the flow. It will all work out. All you have right now are your “What ifs”.

  9. Mike Bohn’s not thinking about any of that stuff, because if he was, Clay Helton would’ve been dismissed last week. I’m looking forward to the fallout if they decide to keep Helton, because the University is guaranteed to lose money. But if Graham Harrell decides to leave for Texas, that will be Bohn’s excuse for another poor season next year. So in the meantime, I’ll be admiring, and rooting for Herm Edwards, and the program he’s building at Arizona State.

  10. Because our conference is poor, we are going to a better Bowl game then we deserve. Which means the team we are likely to face will he better than us. What’s going to happy when Minnesota or Wisconsin or Baylor beats us by 20?

  12. Dodger fans boycotted the games in 2011 to get rid of the McCourts. Trojan fans could do the same thing in 2020 to get rid of Helton and company. History does repeat itself every now and then that’s why we study it as humans. By the way im hearing a lot of lame excuses about 20 million dollars lost if they fired Helton. That the big donors are going to have to foot the bill to get him out. Am I missing something here USC is loaded with cash. Did we all forget about the article that got Swann fired in Sept.? The PS storage guy gave the school 360 million already and was paying Swaan’s salary. Where did all that money go? Folt and Bohner need to make the right decision instead of getting played by a use car salesman. Stop with the excuses already enough of the b.s.. The university is loaded with money. Fire his ass and stop looking for hand outs. Every time a university gives boosters that much power, also gives them the power to screw things up royally.
