USC’s New Recruiting Tactic

You know how schools often get accused of negative recruiting against a rival.

USC seems to take the opposite tactic: High school coaches tell me several recruits have been told not to worry about current players on the roster because they aren’t good enough.

So USC is recruiting against itself. Maybe when you have the worst class in the Pac-12, you will try anything.

I guess the coaches figure recruits will not wonder if current players are not good enough, whose job it was to develope them?

Seems implausible. It certainly smacks of complete desperation to say something like that.
