67 —Just for Cal75’s sake, I wish they could have seen their way to putting ONE Cal player on the Pac 12 First Team…..

MG, I know it slipped your mind, but UCLA’s Mick Cronin won the P-12 Coach of the Year award w/o recruiting a single member to the Bruin team.
***Not a bad 1st year for Coach Cronin!

My friend Owns —
Hate to admit it —but Cronin deserved it — after USC thrashed the bruins at pauley I thought it was all over for ucla —but Cronin did one of the most impressive things a coach can do…. he kept the team together and tuned them around….

Owns,
But at least we did it out in the open with no weirdness or drama..
I’m referring to Darnay Holmes throwing a big tantrum and causing drama at the US Army week demanding his son to pick the Bruins after it was said that Darnay had permission from his mother to go to USC. But here’s the book of John Wooden rubbing off because it involves money.
So after Mr. Holmes after the legendary daddy forcing his son to sign where daddy wants him sign it is brought to the attention that Mr. Holmes magically becomes the New Head Coach for the Under Armour team that is a Bruin affiliate now. Oh and he got $15,000 for that just by chance. I’m sure that the dad was willing to do it for the love of the game.
And Steve Lavin has done the same thing in the pass. This easily could have been UCLA being the team with the Mobley’s but bad luck I guess that the coach of the Compton Magic no longer was in charge because he used to funnel his players to the Bruins. Yeah dont think we didn’t remember that. Also, the Mobley father actually knows basketball and is not a throw in. He’s played college ball at Portland St, then had a career in professional ball playing in China, Mexico, Indonesia and others. To add to his list of credits he also was the man who Coached the Compton Magic to win the AAU National Title. That’s he beat the heavyweights of the AAU circuit. He is also responsible for taking the lead as USC defensive coordinator as they put it. Plus Mobley would have went to Stanford before UCLA. So the Bruins weren’t getting him either way.

Correction to my mistake at the beginning with “Darnay Holmes causing dram”
I meant to say his daddy’s name. Dollars Holmes I think is what he call himself.
