USC president Carol Folt announced the extension of online classes through the end of the semester.
USC will continue to house students who cannot return to their permanent residences. The University asks those who left campus to not return to collect belongings until the administration agrees upon a safe and orderly way to do so.

They have been offering remote classes since the late 80s – USC pioneered the Distance Education Network for engineers at local companies wanting to get an MS. Most engineering classes by the late 90s were webcast.
