Clay Helton said defensive tackle Brandon Pili broke his middle finger and underwent surgery Friday. He is considered week-to-week. Center Brett Neilon sprained his ankle and is possible.
Now for the predictable stuff: Helton said Kedon Slovis improved throughout the game and Marlon Tuipulotu was a “rock star.” Helton said left tackle Alijah Vera-Tucker for was “dominant.”
Helton said kicker Chase McGrath suffered knee and hip tendinitis but that Parker Lewis was performing better under the circumstances and won the job.
Helton said the ASU was a “good first outing” for the defense. Really.
Scottie, God bless you for the photo. The gift that keeps on giving.
Any talk about Slovis getting injured? Wrist? He didnt seem to throw nearly as tight of a spiral yesterday as he did last year.

Yes, 67 — we need to get the scoop on what was behind some of those soft throws (coulda been what announcers said —early rain followed by sunshine left the ball half wet and half dry) —but seeing that photo again. That damn photo. It seemed like…. I don’t know — it seemed like victory.

Scottie – Last of the Mohicans, with apologies to James F. Cooper
I bet deep down, Scottie wishes John Baxter still had some minor role on the team so he could keep posting the gut photos.

As long as Helton stays, Scott will be mostly happy……

We didn’t get the gaping mouth yesterday. Helton wore a mask throughout the game. But the photo showed up on Trojan Daily Blog after I mentioned the mask in a comment.
Kiffin must be in heaven nobody can read his lips and his hard earned double chin is covered.

Brenda Pili broke her finger and it’s nail.
These Polynesian’s that USC recruits have all turned out to be injury prone.
Has there been one of them that has made it through a season without getting hurt and sidelined? Can anyone name one in the last 10 years that hasn’t turned out to be a bust?
Polynesian pipeline? Pffft!
