With The Pac-12 North A Disaster, Maybe USC Should Play Colorado

With Cal defeating Oregon tonight, the Pac-12 North will likely send an unranked team to the conference championship game.

That won’t help the Pac-12 or USC.

So if Colorado keeps winning, maybe the Trojans and Buffs should play each other. At least it might be a game between two undefeated teams. Even if neither team played anyone good.

I can think of worse ideas for the Pac-12.

  1. Without a strong QB, the Duck offense is below average, particularly since their number 1 tailback (Verdell) is either injured or in the dog house. The Nike $$ don’t buy what they used to.

No Pac-12 team ever had a realistic chance of getting to the playoffs this year, given all the issues and that the Pac-12 only plays each other.

    1. Even if they had played OOC teams, no PAC 12 team had a realistic chance of making the playoffs, the conference is just awful and it’s not going to get any better anytime soon.

      1. Chris Schenkel story for you. USC v ucla in the late 70’s, Jordan beats them with a FG on the final play. My dad had an in to park where the press people parked free of charge. Game is over, here comes Schenkle to get into his limo and he’s got a babe on his arm that looked to be his daughters age. Wonder if Chris got some favors on the way to the airport ?

  2. It isn’t the north being bad it’s the PAC 12 ducking the season by waiting until the last minute to start. A regular schedule was set and they blinked. There should be plenty reasons to restructure the league. But I am torn between saying USC should go independent or stay put. We aren’t always going to be a shell program. Someone needs to make a change. (Three diapers and two depends)

    1. Novel idea, but I’d like to see USC play UC Boulder for the “Championship.”
While I’ve not watched CU, I still wonder if they lay an egg and lose to their new “rival” Utah.

None of the Pac 12 CFB teams are much good–though I think the Trojans are in the top 15-20 for sure.

The Pac is leaderless, and the results we are seeing are prime examples of how a leaderless organization stumbles. As I’ve posted repeatedly, if Merton Hanks is unable to salvage this sinking ship, then perhaps it is time to admit defeat and let the Pac 12 sink into Ivy League status. Great academics at 4 of the schools, and–AMF–to the other 8 schools.

      1. Yep, the pac-12 seems like a ship without a sail. The problem is that the majority of stakeholders just don’t care, including most of the university presidents (outside of the revenue that is generated).

    2. Trojan 67 is right, the people in power at these schools don’t give a shit about football or sports for that matter unless the sports would involve women or trannies

USC is NOT a top 15-20 team, they are two tipped passes from having 2 losses.

USC should go independent, but they would fuck that up with the idiots they have in power

Hope the game ends before everyone has to be home and tucked into bed

Well this IS interesting. I am not sure if this site is for me anymore. Each email address used generates a unique symbol that represents the email address. One person on this page has 10 such symbols generated for his username. That is some next level trolling. And none of messages upon this thread has anything to do with the the purpose of the thread. It has developed into a prepubescent name calling.

  3. So, in this scenario, who has an easier path to success?

Biden answering questions from the media or USC’s path to the 2020 Pac12 title?

Clay truly is the luckiest big program coach in NCAAF history.

    He still might blow it.

  4. The whole Pac-12 is a disaster in my opinion. I think that the best team in the Pac-12 is UCLA and they can’t win it. I blame this on Larry Scott. He is an athletic socialist. Like all socialists, they always want equality and they usually get it sooner or later. But Scott has now arrived(in both football and basketball). He has his equality in the Pac-12. Most of the teams are pretty much equal…..they are EQUALLY BAD. Which is usuallly what you get in
socialism. How that guy keeps his job making the big paychecks(for being incompetent) that he makes is a mystery to me.

socialism. You have no idea what your talking about. Social

      1. That wasn’t a very pretty game. And while it was fun watching Ed after last season’s championship. Some people (saban) have long memories. Don’t know if Ed lasts through next season with the gators on deck…

    1. Please everybody: check out this article (don’t get stuck on how much Larry Scott’s photo looks like Wally Cox —read the words).
Note: While you’re reading ask yourselves — do we know of another institution —near and dear to us — which hires mediocrities so that those at the top don’t have to feel inadequate?
