Beware Talk Of Trojan Family

The next time you hear Mike Bohn talk about the Trojan Family and act like he knows what it means, consider this:

He allowed former USC defensive lineman Christian Tupou to recently be fired as an assistant strength coach.

There’s nothing wrong with firing a strength coach. But I doubt Bohn knew anything about whether Tupou was doing a good job. Bohn just got rid of everyone who worked under former strength coach Aaron Ausmus.

One of the guys who replaced Tupou was an intern at Notre Dame. So he didn’t exactly have more qualifications than Tupou, who is a TROJAN (unlike Bohn).

Tupou had relationships with the players, which was worth something. And he was loyal to his alma mater, not someone just looking at USC as a stepping stone to their next career move.

But in the current environment at USC, these things don’t really matter.

  1. You can’t have it both ways, Scott. You complain when we hire those connected with the program or are former players. Now you complain when we don’t. I am sensing a theme.

      1. Scott is all about going both ways. He will criticize USC with whatever angle fits that day, even if it means he’s offering contradictory positions.

  2. Trolls will have believe that the Trojan family includes, Regular, Lubricated, Ribbed, Gold and Regular Ribbed Lubricated. There is also a little known division of products often available in Westwood, called finger cots for bruins.
