Boogie Ellis, a 6-3 guard from the University of Memphis, announced he has committed to USC.
Ellis averaged 10.2 points and 2.1 rebounds last season. He averaged 8.0 points and 3.3 rebounds his freshman season.
Wonder what this means in terms of USC landing Utah-transfer Timmy Allen.
Nice addition. Does this mean that USC basketball will be a winner next Monday, after being a loser today because it needed to pick up some transfers?

Awesome pickup. He was supposed to be a Trojan out of High School. We had him locked up then out of nowhere Penny Hardaway shows up and he’s gone. But still a good pick up!

Actually he was headed to Duke up till the last minute then backed off. But that’s not important, he’ll be good compliment to Drew and Ethan and should fit in well.
This is a nice get.

Duke stole him then Memphis stole him.

I’m so excited for Ellis as well as the news of Goodwin return. The line- up could be something special. Isiah Mobley/ Chevez Goodwin/ Boggie Ellis/ Ethan Anderson/ Drew Peterson. Isiah White? Agbonkpolo/ Coubilly/Morgan/ Reese/ 3 more recruits- This is truly good news- hopefully Isiah Mobley returns with a Chip on his shoulder. I’m optimistic about Trojans basketball for 2021-2022. Thanks Enfield!

If he does, it is safe to say that Boogie’s dad won’t nearly have the impact of “Big Papa” Sam Gilbert.

Sam — You just wrote the speech Helton needs to give after his first loss this season, “I don’t know what happened. I blame Wolf.”

This guy is tremendous. Don’t let the 10 points per game fool you. He committed to Duke then backed off. I have seen him play not only is he explosive, lightning quick, but can knock down the three. I am talking Harold Minor explosiveness, and talent, and will defnitely be USC’s leading scorer next year. Probably will be 1 and done, and if we can Timmy Allen now we should be set with a strong inside and outside game.

Matt Bradley vs. Boogie Ellis comparison: Bradley is a good shooter, but lacks the quickness we need at the guard position. Good pick up for San Diego state, but we need more speed, and a guard who can penetrate, and still hit the 3.
Boogie Ellis- is by far the better player,. and will be the best guard on the West Coast. He can control an entire game, has speed and quickness, and can shoot the 3. He is a blur with the basketball. Next year our team will be completely different more of a fast break team, and Boogie will be tough to slow down. Has the talent to average 25 points a game, and the potential to be a 1st round pick.
The midget coach over in Westwood just lost another inch in height when he heard about this committment.
Add Timmy Allen, and we will be the team to beat in the Pac 12 next season along with UCLA.

I really like how low you went with the “lost another inch in height” remark…….

I have to give it to Mick, he could wear a toupee that would give him another inch or two of height. But he doesn’t stoop to that level. Well done, Mickey!

I hope you’re right, but the guy has two years under his belt and has put up nowhere near that production. I don’t see him being the best guard on the west coast, but I hope he’s a productive one.

Boogie is on his third team in as many years. What’s up with that ? Just asking for a friend.

Stupid, undignified, little troll. This kid changed his mind and was granted his release before ever stepping on campus for classes or practice. Obviously, he had a brain and chose not to play for mick the midget.
How’s rosen doin? Did he get even with those teams yet? He was SO dignified at that press conference on draft day, it’s hard to forget much like the Brady Quinn debacle.

Against all odds, JO just topped himself with his latest post. Wow, talk about incoherent. Did this guy even get out of HS? JO, it is really not that hard to string together a coherent line or two. Somthing that might help, put down your Little Lulu comic books and read a book for grown ups.

Boogie will be tremendous. Penny, used him as the 6th man off the bench this year which was a mistake, and some friction was developed, but Boggie was re-inserted into the starting lineup, and then the team started to take off again late in the season, and won the NIT. Once he plays under control on a consistent basis he will be an NBA 1st round no doubt about that.
Will be the most explosive, fill up the nets guard at USC since Harold Minor, but can shoot it much better from the 3 point line, and penetrate in the paint almost as well as Minor. If our big men come through, and if Tim Allen transfers in look out.
Quickness, and speed at the guard position was what was missing last season. We now will be tough to stop with Boogie.

Time to be excited Trojan basketball fans. This program seems to be on its way finally. One more good transfer along with KJ Allen (No. 1 JC Player) the power forward coming in, and this team is set. Probably a more exciting team than last season which ran more of a set post up offense because of Evan. This offense next season will be very explosive and dangerous.

I am hearing that Evan Mobley is coming back for 1 more year for two reasons:
1) He wants to win the Pac 12 next year with a shot at a national title.
2) He wants to play 1 more season with his brother while his dad is still coaching, and his mother wants him to get closer to his degree from USC.
3) He does not want to play for the Houston Rockets or another bottom tier small market NBA team nor ride the bench his first year like his Okongu.
4)He realizes he needs to add some muscle and strength before playing in the NBA.
It is 50-50 that he returns, and he is looking into a insurance policy.
I still think he will steps go, but the odds of him returning are going up now that Boogie Ellis is transferring in, and will go up even higher if his brother returns as they are a very close knit family.
Stayed tuned- you heard it here first.
It is 50-50 odds he will return

UPDATE; JC Recruit KJ Allen has decomitted from USC. Looks to me that 1) USC is getting Utah transfer Timmy Allen and 2) I have heard KJ Allen had trouble qualifying academically, and was very disappointed that Timmy Allen would be transferring in, and promised a starting position. So all this makes sense if you put the pieces of the puzzle together- Two schlorships remain- 1 to Timmy Allen, and the other to Martinez both transferrring in from Utah. Just like last year- 3 transfers will be coming in – Ellis, Allen, and Martinez. We lost a good one in KJ Allen, but Timmy Allen is a proven commodity in the Pac 12, and Martinez is a rising start.

UPDATE: Timmy Allen joins Devin Askew, and makes the committment toTexas.
Looks like Enfield has a hidden secret in filling the power forward position……..perhaps Evan is coming back. Something is up both Allens made an announcement on the same day which does not make much sense unless there is a new mystery recruit coming in.
