Given USC’s history handling these type of cases, it’s difficult to see Bru McCoy playing for USC this season.
Matt Boermeester never got reinstated and he wasn’t even arrested and had a court overturn his suspension. Does Carol Folt want someone playing with a suspicion of felony intimate partner violence with injury charge?
I suspect McCoy’s court date of Nov. 24 helps USC put any decision off until the end of the season.
One thing struck me today: McCoy is 21 and has played one college season of four games.
As a member of the football coaching staff said today, “he always has something wrong.”
HE IS DONE….AT USC. …….BUT HE WILL PLAY AGAIN IN THE BIG 12 or SEC. The same goes with Trevor Bauer it is unlikely he ever plays again for the Dodgers after a great start.
Frankly, he is use to sitting out an entire season, and then transferring which is a bit sad for such a great student athlete.
Hope this is not true, but to Carol Folt, and Mike Bohn trying to steer away from trouble once again it really doesn’t matter, and they will unfortunately say move on to another recruit.

If Helton was a strong leader he’d just boot him be done with him and Clay would learn from this mistake and move on. But no, it’s the “but muh 5-stars” pay site and message board idiots claiming he was set up by the girl. Come on. This guy is and has been a mess. Clay should’ve seen this and gotten him help. I mean dude goes through Spring practice and up and leaves for Texas gets to Texas and realizes Texas sucks and came back. Then he had some unexplained mystery illness that kept him out for another season. The scholarship Bru’s had for 3 years while doing nothing could have gone to someone who could contribute to the team. But Clay and Graham are blinded by the 5-stars. I mean, even Chip Kelly eventually said to hell with you after his super 5-star Mique Juarez always had something wrong for years. First rule of holes is when you find yourself in a whole stop digging. Clay’s gonna be in China in 18 months at his digging rate.

He never went thru spring practice here. He went thru spring in Austin his freshman yr then transferred back before the end of their spring. But then does it matter.

**He transferred out off Austin just before the end of their spring camp.

Fair. He did graduate from high school early and enrolled at USC, 17 days later he transferred to Texas b/c he was mad somebody gave Kliff Kingsbury a ton of money and job he wasn’t prepared for. He then went through Spring Practice at Texas and transferred back to USC in June. So my bad for mixing some stuff up from 3 years before he played in a College Football game. Why Helton took him back is beyond me. It’s like getting back together with the girl that dumped you straight out of the blue. There’s certainly no chance she’s going to behave erratically again in the near term.

This clown McCoy is 21 years old, almost 4 years removed from high school.

So what did Mater Dei cover up—“come on in transfers, we will take care of you”

Bru is from Palos Verdes and I think his family knows Helton. If there is any uncertainty about the charges, I think Helton wont want to throw him under the bus.
But they cant turn a blind eye if there is any truth.

Bru has been found innocent of any charges.
It’s a shame that because of USC bureaucracy and politics, Bru isn’t playing.
Bru has given his whole life to the game of football. Has been ruined by false accusations and not been given a fair chance!

Scottie, if you aren’t better than this, you really should be. Really.

Absolutely. Most places there’d be some presumption of innocence.
Not saying anything about the girl/woman, but everyone deserves to be heard.

Like where? The backward ass lands of the SEC? All USC said is he was “temporarily removed from team activities.” Everybody else that’s been charged with a felony was booted right away. The kicker wasn’t even ever charged with anything. So yeah, you’re whole USC is too woke is just a petty right wing talking point – same as how Bru is the actual victim here. That’s the entirety of the right wings existence. They’re always the victim. I didn’t really have an opinion on you one way or the other. That has changed.

Here. On this blog where perception is reality. Yeah, he isn’t being treated fairly. And btw, since you pontificate so well, not only is it myself, the right winger who thought that it wasn’t a fair process but so did an appeals court, sending all cases back to USC to be re-adjudicated.

And as to cases where the student was charged and then acquitted there are a number in the last few years just on campus, and many more nationwide.

1…enough evidence to book him, means more than just her say so.
2…enough evidence to file the a felony case, which prosecution must prove,
BECAUSE he is innocent until evidence proves his guilt beyond reasonable doubt to a judge or jury,if the preliminary judge sends it to superior ct based on he/she sees enough evidence for the felony court trial.
AT LEAST THAT IS THE WAY IT USED TO BE.
BUT SINCE TITLE 9…WHO KNOWS.

Sorry Tim, not so. And in the case of domestic violence the DAs don’t even need the testimony of the victim to file.
I’m not saying he’s innocent, just that there have been times when the accused has been found not guilty and some even innocent with all charges dropped.

SO NO TESTIMONY AND NO EVIDENCE NEEDED? JUST DA WANTS TO FILE CHGS AND PROSECUTE?

McCoy’s “intimate partner” is a dude, that’s what TMZ is implying in their story.

You burned him. He literally told you where you could find the information but since that’s too hard for you to do, here -https://www.tmz.com/2021/08/02/usc-trojans-wide-receiver-bru-mccoy-suspended-arrest/

Already saw that link. Nothing about his partner being a male.
Next link?

It’s too bad that instead of McCoy being a football player at USC, he were, the liberal democratic governor of New York. Officals would just look the other way as concerning this charge against him.

Trojan1967 nowhere does it say his intimate partner isn’t the Pacific Life blue whale. You have a link that states it’s not the Pacific Life whale?

Sheesh, Smackyd, TO claimed the link implied McCoy’s partner was a male. The link doesn’t do that whatsoever IMO. That is the point I am making.

Bru, word of caution, these guys will be gunning to take you down 👇
“We are aware of the situation, and USC’s Office for Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX is reviewing it,” said USC Athletics in a statement.

Mark Sanchez was arrested and subsequently charges were dropped. Maybe Bru will catch a break. He’ll get no due process though from USC Title IX.

McCoy needs a plan B or C. He needs to start thinking about transfer portal and looking for some place like Mississippi to play ball (remember bad boy Matt Corral?). He has talent to play at NFL level. Whatever happened is unfortunate and McCoy needs to do whatever is necessary with the law and move on.

Regardless of the outcome, I just hope Bru is treated fairly and is judged on the facts of the case and not influenced by some overarching political or social agenda within law enforcement and within USC. If it doesn’t go Bru’s way, it’ll be another example of a big-time 5-star recruit failure under Clay Helton. If the coaching staff believed that “[Bru] always has something wrong”, that says to me that Bru has maturity issues that should’ve been more aggressively addressed before now. It’s the lack of discipline within the program and that starts with Clay Helton and his team culture.
