Does USC intend to explain how it arrived at the figure of $496 for a tailgate parking pass?
So much of what USC does comes without explanation these days. If you read the blog regularly, you know I’ve written about the former ticket manager John Morley, who used to hold press conferences and regularly explain to students and fans the ticket availability/prices for games.
Now? USC fans get an email that doesn’t properly explain how they are getting shafted.
In the past few years, a lot of fans were displaced by the Coliseum renovation. They no longer sit with the people they sat with for decades at games.
Now they are being gouged for a tailgate pass. And by the way, what does that pass entitle you to? I didn’t see any examples of a tailgate space in that USC email that was sent out?
USC always wants the fans to take their word for it. And write the check.
It reminds me of the donor who donated millions to the athletic dept. but withheld a sizeable donation because he was unhappy with the quality of construction on a building.
The donor got a letter: “We might have to take your name off (any buildings).”
You are only as good as your last check.
