USC has sure changed its tune in the past year on a bowl game.
“We definitely . . . that’s why we want to play these games, we want to make sure we put our best foot forward and make sure we get to a bowl the right way,” Donte Williams said Tuesday.
But last year after going 4-1, USC begged off playing in a bowl even though the team wanted to play.
Mike Bohn and Clay Helton decided otherwise, unwilling to go to a bowl without a healthy Kedon Slovis, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Alijah Vera-Tucker.
Like I said, the rest of the team wanted to play but they didn’t get a say.
- Maybe Donte Williams sounded so confident about picking one QB on Monday night because he knew Kedon Slovis was not even going to practice Tuesday because of a leg injury.
- Korey Foreman has a concussion and did not practice Tuesday.
USC spared nothing on the size of those Elite Eight rings. And Desmon Farmer now has two Elite Eight rings because he got one in 2001 as a player.
