The Rams parade reminds me of USC’s national championship celebration when Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks introduced football coach Pete “Carrot.”
And then there was the press conference when athletic director Mike McGee introduced his new basketball coach, “Jim Raveling . . . George Raveling.”
You can hear that classic moment here by scrolling down to the Raveling entry.
And now this:

Say Gabby, you got to talk to Pete about Scott? I bet that was a short conversation.

Scott calls him ‘Carrot’ because it is similar to Carroll, and Scott refuses to kowtow to anybody, so he keeps everybody at arm’s distance.

Why would you keep people at USC at an arm distance, when you are supposed to be inside USC? Make it make sense!

Funny how politicians like Parks (who may know very little about football and other things) jump on the USC bandwagon when things are going well. Can’t wait to see George Gascon, Maxine Waters, and Adam Schiff start showing up at games.

Adam would start crying the first time he saw somebody get tackled —and his little cheeks would get redder and his bulging eyes would get bulgier …

I pray that they don’t. Then you know that SC has gone full commie atheist and progressive.

Regrettably it’s already happening with USC Gould Law and generally-speaking. 99% of USC faculty and administration who make political contributions, contribute to democrat and socialist candidates.

Wow, the Lincoln Riley effect must be one of the reasons the Big 10 is ditching its alliance with PAC 12.
Big 10 will keep their 9 conference games rather than go to 8.
I guess they are afraid to compete!!

Oregon beat Ohio State last year. Ohio State did beat Michigan State 56-7. I think we all know what’s at play here.

Flow, perpetually shitting on USC’s golden hire since Pete, which USC had both fall into their lap. Pete as a 5th choice and Riley as a top choice. Why can’t Bohn show some excitement in something that clearly saved/defined his career (so far)? Either way, rejoice, Flow. Things should be looking up for USC Football. Or do you wish it to be the other way around?

Scott will know how to play it either way…

Looking back, ‘Celeb’s’ “hold-out” for nearly a month after he left Oklahoma put his name front-center in sports, and look what he is reaping now.
And the kid has a pleasant personality, so I don’t foresee any jealousy from his teammates. But the NIL program will not benefit all the players equally– the marquis ones will corral most of the gold, with the lesser ones garnering the crumbs.
So the idea of “paying” the players is a good idea, I suppose, but not everyone is being paid, so this could pose a problem in the long-run.

Maybe the Bruins can get Brinton to resurrect Geoffrey Strand’s schtick at their home football games.

He wouldn’t want to deal with you because you referred to him as “him”. He goes by they or them. That let’s him know that they care about his feelings. (Yes, he has stated this.) When someone is going to go there over an inaccurate pronoun, that shows that he’s probably going to be difficult to deal with and look at things from an alternate reality.
